영문 초록

This study examines the effect of cyber criminal victimization on offending and tests three theories which intervening variables are important in explaining those processes. This study chooses three intervening variables from three theoretical standpoints: strain, social learning, and opportunity theories. These intervening variables are negative emotion, attitude favorable to cyber crime, and the perceived opportunity of cyber crime. Using data from 762 university students in eoul, this study tests several hypotheses. Results show that cyber criminal victimization has a direct significant influence on cyber criminal offending. In addition, it is found that the effect of criminal victimization on offending is also indirect through the perceived opportunity of cyber crime, which supports opportunity theory. However, inconsistent with hypotheses, results show that the effects df cyber criminal victimization on negative emotion and attitude favorable toward cyber crime are negative, even though they have significant positive effects on cyber offending.
