국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 미얀마 시장의 잠재력에 대해 다각적으로 분석하고 이를 토대로 한국과 미얀마의 통상협력 방안을 도출하는 데 있다. 미얀마는 천연자원과 노동시장이 풍부하고 2011년 민간정부가 출범하면서 시장개방이 확대되어 외국인 투자가 증가하고 있다. 특히 유럽과 미국의 대미얀마 경제제재가 해제되면서 외국인 투자가 급증하고 있다. 한국의 대미얀마 통상협력 정책은 미얀마의 니즈에 부합되고, 한국이 경쟁국가인 중국과 일본에 비해 상대적으로 갖고 있는 비교우위에 특화해서 이루어져야 한다.

영문 초록

This paper aims to inform a better understanding of Myanmar’s potential for development and advise commercial cooperation between Korea and Myanmar. Myanmar has abundant labor and resources and civilian government took office in 2011. Political and economic reforms initiated by civilian government entice foreign investment in Myanmar. especially Myanmar’s Political and economic liberalization lead to withdraw economic sanctions by EU, USA. As the economic scales and trade volumes in Myanmar, Korean foreign direct investment to Myanmar expands rapidly. Korea Should plan its commercial cooperation policy with Myanmar based on Myanmar’s needs and comparative adantage to compare with China and Japan.
