국문 초록

이 논문은 미발표 언간 「부원군부인왕후님경계편지라」에 대한 서지사항, 표현과 형식의 특성, 내용적 특성, 문학사적 의미 등에 대한 논의를 하였다. 이 언간은 가로 18cm, 세로 29cm의 한지(韓紙)에 다른 작품과 함께 필사되어 합철되어 있으며, 전체가 모두 7면으로, 매 면은 1면 11행, 1행 평균 20자 내외의 길이로, 句 단위를 의식함이 없이 줄글체로 잇달아 종으로 써 내려간 연행(連行) 종배법(縱排法)으로 표기되어 있다. 이 언간의 발신자는 부원군 부인이며 수신자는 그의 딸인 왕후이다. 언간의 서체는 전형적인 내간체의 여필(女筆)로, 궁체에 가까우며, 필사연대는 1895년으로 추정된다. 발신자는 친정어머니이며 수신자는 왕후 딸로서 발신자인 친정어머니가 수신자인 왕후 딸에게 궁중 생활에 긴절(緊切)한 덕목을 열거하여 이를 준행(遵行)할 것을 당부하고 있다. 주요 내용은 '말조심', '웃음 조심', '성(화)참기', '앉음과 걸음걸이 조심', '말씀하거나 사람을 부릴 때 소리를 유화(柔和)하게 할 것', '효도와 공경을 극진히 할 것' 등이다. 이 언간은 구체적이고 실천적인 훈교 내용과 표현이 일체의 사적인 사연이나 문제될 만한 표현은 일체 배제되어 있고 오로지 그 덕목을 실천하기 바라는 어머니의 진정이 너무나 간절하여 감동을 자아낸다. 이런 측면에서 이 언간은 진정이 스며있는 생동하는 실용적 문학 작품이라 할 수 있다. 현재까지는 이러한 언간은 발견되지 않고 있어 이 언간의 문학사적 위상과 그 가치는 더욱 높다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This writing has studied the bibliographical matters and characteristics of the expression and formality, contents, the significance in cultural history about an unpublished colloquial letter . This colloquial letter is transcribed and bound together with another literary works on the traditional Korean papers which are 18cm × 29cm; width and length, which is written vertically on 7pages with 11 rows on each page and around 20 characters in a row not distinguishing between phrases. The sender is queen consort's mother and the recipient is the queen consort. The style of handwriting is typical Naeganche by woman which is similar to Gungche; the court style of writing. It is estimated to be transcribed in 1895. This colloquial letter asks earnestly her daughter, the queen consort to follow in accordance with royal court mentioning virtue items. The main contents are caring in speaking, watching out laughing, suppressing anger, being prudent in her conduct, temperate tone to subjects, filial duty, respect and so on. It is inspiring that this letter shows a mother's earnest desire for the daughter as a queen consort in detail without troublemaking expressions excluding personal stories. In this respect, this letter is qualified as a practical literature. This letter seems to have high literature value in the korean literature history, because, up to now, this kind of colloquial letter has not been found. Moreover, it can give a important informations to study the honorification of the time. Besides, this transcript seems to deserve consideration to study how to distribute between classes with the feature of the style of handwriting.
