초등 영재의 일상 살아가기와 삶의 질에 관한 질적 분석

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 7명의 대학부설 영재교육원 소속 초등 영재들의 일상에서의 경험을통해 이들의 일상 살아가기와 삶의 질의 단면을 심층적으로 탐색해보고자 하였다. 본 연구는 초등영재들과의 심층면접을 통해 나타난 주제들(themes) 중 가장 핵심적인주제들을 이들의 일상의 거점지인 학교, 학원, 영재교육원, 그리고 가정의 4가지 맥락에서 제시하였다. 학교생활과 관련하여 ‘모순(矛盾)의 수학시간-오히려 뒤처지기와 딴짓을 위한 시간벌기’, ‘상위권 유지를 위한 학업적 부담’, ‘좋은 해-나쁜 해 신드룸’,‘시기와 질투 안고 살기’의 주제들이 도출되었고, 학원생활과 관련해서는 ‘수준별 학습과 재미로 학교보다 더 학교같은 학원’, ‘체력이 딸리고 기진맥진함’이 주제로 제기되었다. 영재교육원 생활과 관련해서는 ‘누구를 위한 영재교육인가’와 ‘영재를 바라보는 불편한 시선’이 그리고 끝으로 가정생활과 관련해서는 ‘시간가는 줄 모르고 푹 빠져듦’, ‘슈퍼맘과 초특급 영재’, 그리고 ‘이해관계로서의 형제자매와의 애증’이 주요주제들로 도출되었다. 본 연구는 비록 7명의 초등영재들을 대상으로 한 소규모 질적연구이지만 영재교육에서의 사교육 이슈, 공교육에서의 개인차 부재 문제 등 현 교육시스템이 당면하고 있는 다양한 이슈와 문제들을 영재 아이들의 실제 목소리와 사례를 통해 경험적으로 생생하게 제기했다는데 그 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 함의가 논의되었다

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to phenomenologically analyze the everyday life and the quality of life of the gifted through everyday experience of seven elementary gifted students under an university affiliated gifted education center. Through looking over four core places of their everyday life-the four of which are school, institution, gifted education center, and home-this study shows the core themes of the themes that have surfaced during the in-depth interviews with the corresponding gifted students. About school, these contexts have been deducted; “math itself is fun but math in school is boring”, “pressure to keep the grades high”, “good year-bad year syndrome based on the teacher factor”, “putting up with jealousy and even hatred from classmates.” On institution part, “more school-like than school with differentiated curriculum by individualization and fun”, “running out of stamina and being exhausted” have been drawn as themes. Regarding gifted education center, “gifted education for whom?”, and “negative impressions towards the gifted” have been pointed out. At the last division, home, “concentrating without the notion of time”, “super-mom and super-gifted”, and “love and hatred from brothers and sisters” have been conducted as themes. The significance of the deducted themes lies within the fact -although this is a qualitative study on seven of the elementary gifted children- that this study is indicating various issues that the current education system faces such as the private education issue, the absence of consideration about difference among individuals” etc. The undertone of this research has been studied and discussed in depth.
