실버계층의 삶의 질에 대한 결정요인에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 노령화가 사회적 이슈로 대두된 현 시점에 노년층의 삶의 질에 대한 유형화에 따른 유형별 결정요인의 특성 파악과 예비실버계층과 실버계층의 비교분석을 통해 각각의 시장에 대한 특성을 규명하기 위한 연구이다. 자료는 이론적 고찰을 바탕으로 구조화된 설문을 통해 2006년 10월 1일부터 10월 30일까지 서울을 포함한 수도권지역에 거주하고 있는 55-64세 예비실버층과 65세 이상 남, 여 실버계층을 모집단으로 설정하고, 편의표본추출을 통해 조사가 이루어졌다. 연구결과, 여가활동유형은 스포츠활동, 감상관람활동, 행락관광활동, 사교활동, 가사활동, 건강관리활동, 대중매체활동으로 분류되었고, 삶의 질은 신체적요소, 가족관계, 자존감, 사회성의 요소로 구성되는 것으로 유형화 되었다. 예비실버계층과 실버계층별 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 결정요인은 모형별로 상이한 부분이 도출 되었으며 참여하는 여가활동 유형도 다른 것으로 추정되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 정책입안이나 기업측면에서 새롭고 탄탄한 구매기반을 가진 소비층에 대한 새로운 프로그램의 개발이나 운영 등 복지정책의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

One notable trend of recent times is the aging population. That is, the proportion of elderly people is rapidly increasing in Korea, and their quality of life becomes an important social issue. This paper investigates the determinants of the quality of life by comparing the two age groups, the pre-elderly group who are between 55 and 64 years old and the elderly group who are 65 years and older Data were collected from the residents of the metropolitan area around Seoul from October 1st through 30th, 2006. Two age groups of the population, the pre-elderly group and the elderly group, are included in the study. Convenience sampling method was used.The results show that the patterns of leisure activities include sports, thought seeing sliding, sightseeing and tour, social activities, household activities, health, etc. The factors for quality of life include physical constituent, family relationship, self-esteem, social relationship. It is also found that the pre-elderly and the elderly groups are affected by the different factors in terms of life quality and the two groups participate in different types of leisure activities. These results can provide guidelines for developing and operating new social programs and policy that targeted at this new consumer groups, pre-elderly and elderly people.
