국문 초록

사회네트워크 분석방법을 내용연구에 적용한 방법으로, 텍스트에 출현하는 단어와 단어 사이의 관계를 네트워크로 파악해 메시지를 해석하는 분석기법인 네트워크 텍스트 분석은 통계 자료 중심의 계량적 연구방법에 적합한 주제에 편향되어 있는 행정학 분야에 중요한 질적 연구방법으로 관심을 받고 있다. 하지만 여전히 내용분석 연구는 행정학 분야에서 그 가능성과 잠재력을 충분히 발휘하고 있지 못하고 있는 바, 이러한 한계를 넘어서기 위해서는 네트워크 텍스트 분석방법의 내용과 그 분석결과에 대한 해석방법에 대한 이해를 심화시키는 것이 필요하다. 이러한 문제의식을 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 네트워크 텍스트 분석이 행정학 분야에서 보다 유용한 내용분석방법으로 자리 잡고, 그 잠재성을 행정학 분야에서 충분히 활용하는데 필요한 개선점을 제안하고자 2010년부터 2015년 사이에 학술지에 게재된 네트워크 텍스트 분석이 사용된 행정학 분야의 연구 18편을 검토하여 이들 연구에서 사용된 주요한 접근방법과 지표 및 그에 대한 해석을 검토하였다. 그리고 이를 바탕으로 행정학 분야에서 네트워크 텍스트 분석을 활용한 연구가 그 가치를 발휘하는데 도움이 되는 제안을 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫째, 연구목적과 분석대상 텍스트에 부합하는 적절한 네트워크 접근방법과 분석방법을 선별하여 단계적으로 사용해야 한다. 둘째, 보다 풍부하고 설득력 있는 설명과 해석을 제시하기 위해서 네트워크 텍스트 분석에 있어서 대표적인 3가지 접근방법별로 복수의 분석방법과 지표들을 비교하려는 시도가 필요하다. 셋째, 연구자가 사용한 분석방법과 분석단위, 코딩 방식 등에 대해 정확히 소개하는 것이 필요하다. 넷째, 텍스트의 메시지를 보다 풍부하게 해석하기 위해, 현재까지 사용된 네트워크 텍스트 분석방법 혹은 지표 외에 보다 다양한 사회 네트워크 분석방법·지표를 새롭게 활용해 보려는 시도가 필요하다.

영문 초록

The network text analysis, a kind of social network analysis applied to the studies of content analysis, is known as the method which interprets the messages by analyzing the relationship between words that appear in the text. Recently network text analysis grasps the attention of the researchers in Public Administration as a promising qualitative research methods. But still the number of researches used the network text analysis is small in Public Administration Sector, In order to exceed these limits, it is necessary to deepen the understanding of the technique of the network text analysis and of the interpretation of the results. So we review the 18 network text analysis studies in Public Administration which have been published in journals from 2010 to 2015 in Korea. Based on this, Some suggestions to help achieve that value in the Administration field of the studies are showed as follows: Firstly, after screening the appropriate network approaches and analysis method to meet the research goal, the selected approaches and analysis methods should be used step by step. Second, in order to provide the interpretation and analysis about the messages of the text, there is a need for an attempt to compare methods and indicators of three approaches in network analysis. Third, it is necessary for the researchers to correctly introduce analysis methods, analysis unit and coding scheme. Fourth, in order to enrich the interpretation of the message of the text, we should try to take advantage of a wider variety of social network analysis methods or indicators.
