국문 초록

대형교회에 대한 진단과 평가는 교회성장과 함께 결과적으로 탄생한 대형교회에 대한 비판적 성찰작업이다. 교회가 성장하는 것은 바람직한 현상이다. 그러나 성장이 어떤 동기와 목적을 지향하며, 어떤 방법과 원리에 의해 수행되며 결과가 신앙과 교회 본질에 부합하는 가를 잘 살펴야 한다. 교회성장도 중요하지만 그 방법과 원리가 교회의 본질을 바르게 실현하고 있는가를 신학적으로 살펴야 한다. 대형교회를 학문적으로 진단하고 평가해야 하는 이유는 한국교회의 성장제일주의가 초래하는 문제를 진단하고 해결하기 위해서는 그러 한 문제가 집약적으로 나타난 것이 대형교회의 문제이기 때문이다. 건강한 대형교회가 존재하며 교회연합이 어려운 한국교회 현실을 볼 때 건강한 대형교회가 국내선교와 세계선교를 위해 필요한 일들을 수행할 수 있기 때문이다. 그럼에도 대형교회를 비판적 관점에서 언급 하는 것은 현재 한국교회에 발생하는 잘못된 현상들이 ‘문제로 등장하 는’ 대형교회들에 압축되어 있다고 생각하기 때문이다. 현재 한국교회는 위기에 직면해 있다. 한국교회가 이러한 상황을 직면하게 된 원인은 무엇보다 교회 내부에 존재한다. 한국교회의 현주 소를 생각할 때 본 논문의 목적은 대형교회에 대한 문제진단과 평가를 통해 그것이 한국교회에 미친 부정적 영향들을 가려내고, 나아가 유사 한 방식으로 현재 한국교회에 만연해 있는 문제에 대한 비판적 성찰에 있다. 이런 문제를 통해 한국교회는 자신의 모습을 진단하고 바르게 볼 수 있어야 하며, 경계로 삼아 잃어버린 교회의 본질을 회복하는 계기로 삼고자 한다. 한국교회는 지역교회 중심의 구조적 특성을 지니고 있기 때문에 대형교회에 대한 비판적 성찰을 통해 대형교회가 공교회적 역할로 사회적 책임을 수행하며, 한국교회에 주어진 자원을 활용하여 지역교회 들이 건강한 교회로 나아갈 수 있도록 다양한 관점의 연구가 필요하다.

영문 초록

The Diagnosis and evaluation of the Megachurch is for any critical reflection activity on the megachurches which have been formed as results of the Church Growth. However, the Growth should be watched carefully to be directed to any motive and purpose, carried out by any method and principle, and coincided with the nature of the Church or not. The Church Growth is sure to be very important. What is much more important is to examine whether methods and principles to make the Church grow are stipulated on the basis of the nature of the Church theologically. The reason why we should diagnose and evaluate the Megachurch justly on the academic level is that most problems which the growth-first ideology of the Church in South Korea has caused are those of the Megachurch, which are to be identified and solved. Actually it is importance itself that the healthy megachurches exist. In other words, when it is very difficult to form any union of the Church of South Korea, the megachurches can play various roles in many things which are needed for domestic missions and world missions. Despite it, the reason for mentioning the megachurches in a critical point of view is that “all the wrong problems” which have been occurring in the Korean Church are thought to be condensed and shown in the megachurches. At present, the Korean Church comes upon a critical period. The reasons the Korean Church has got to face these situations are being exposed within the Korean Church. In consideration of the current state of the Korean Church, the purpose of this paper is for discriminating negative influences which the megachurches have had on the Korean Church by diagnosis and evaluation on problems of the megachurches, and further reflecting critically the similar problems that are prevalent currently in the Korea Church. The Korea Church should have the opportunity to restore the nature of the Church which has lost by examining itself through analyzing these problems, Because the Korean Church is specialized in the center of local churches, the studies of various aspects are needed which are able to make the megachurches take the social responsibility and play official church-roles by the critical reflection about themselves.
