국문 초록

본 연구는 어머니가 지각한 유아의 정서조절행동과 어머니의 양육효능감에 관하여 유아의 성별과 연령에 따른 차이와 관계성을 알아보기 위한 목적에서 이루어졌다. 연구대상은 만 3,4,5세 유아 273명과 그들의 어머니였다. K시와 S시에 소재한 8곳의 유아교육기관에 설문지를 배부하여 어머니에게 유아의 정서조절행동과 자녀에 대한 양육효능감을 물어보는 설문지에 응답을 하도록 하였다. 변인들 간의 차이와 관계성을 알아보기 위하여 변량분석과 Pearson의 상관관계 분석을 실시하였다. 본연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 유아의 정서조절행동과 어머니의 양육효능감은 모두 유아의 성별 및 연령에 따라 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 여아는 남아보다 더 높은 정서 조절력을 보였고, 남아는 여아보다 더 높은 정서 불안정성을 보였다. 긍정적 양육효능감은 여아를 둔 어머니가 남아를 둔 어머니 보다 더 높게 나타났다. 부정적 양육효능감은 연령이 증가할수록 높아졌다. 또한 어머니가 지각한 유아의 정서조절행동과 양육효능감 사이에는 유의미한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 자녀가 높은 정서조절력을 보여주는 경우 어머니의 긍정적 양육효능감이 높게 나타났고, 반대로 높은 정서 불안정성을 보여주는 경우 부정적 양육효능감이 높게 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships and differences in maternal perception of child's emotion regulation behavior and maternal self-efficacy according to child's age and gender. Two hundred and seventy three children of age 3 to 5 and their mothers participated in the study. Children were selected from 8 different preschools located in two different cities. Mothers completed checklists on their child's emotion regulation behavior and their own maternal self-efficacy. Analysis of variance and Pearson's correlation analysis have been carried out to examine the differences and relationships between factors. The findings were as follows: There were significant differences in maternal perception of children's emotion regulation behavior and maternal self-efficacy according to children's genders and ages. Girls showed higher emotion regulation abilities than boys, while boys showed higher emotion labilities. Mothers of girls showed higher levels of positive maternal self-efficacy than those of boys. Negative maternal self-efficacy increased with age. Also significant relationships were found between maternal perception of child's emotion regulation behavior and maternal self-efficacy. Mothers of children with higher emotion regulation abilities showed higher maternal self-efficacy. On the contrary, mothers of children with higher emotion labilities showed lower maternal self-efficacy.
