국문 초록

최근 몇 년 동안 선교의 전방개척(Mission Frontiers)이라는 용어가 한국 선교계에서 주목을 끌면서 그동안 전통적으로 인식되었던 전방개척선교(Frontier Mission)와 혼동을 겪게 하고 있다. 일부에서는 랄프 윈터(Ralph Winter)박사가 언급한 새로운 개념인 선교의 전방개척선교(Mission Frontiers)가 미전도 종족선교를 대체하는 새로운 패러다임으로 이해하고 있다. 여기에서 우리 한국선교는 랄프 윈터가 강연한 새로운 개념의 선교의 전방개척에 대한 명확한 이해를 필요로 하며 그에 따르는 변화가 요구되어진다. 더 나아가 그가 언급한 지적인 선교(Intellectual Frontiers)의 도전이 앞으로 기독교 선교의 개척분야임을 인식하고 적극적으로 참여해야만 할 것이다. 그러나 이에 앞서 한국교회의 짧은 선교역사에서 아직도 미전도 종족을 위한 전통적인 전방개척선교(Frontier Mission)가 활성화되고 있지 못한 상황 속에서 한국선교가 그 책임을 감당할 수 있기 위하여 먼저 현대선교 운동의 핵심인 전통적인 전방개척선교를 분명하게 정립하며 활성화해야만 한다. 때문에 본 논문은 한국선교를 위한 전통적인 전방개척선교의 활성화를 위하여 첫째로, 전방개척선교의 정의와 영역을 살펴보고, 두 번째로는, 전방개척선교의 상황과 과제들을 분석하며, 세 번째로 전방개척선교를 위한 효율적인 선교전략을 모색할 것이다.

영문 초록

For the past several years, the word, "Mission Frontiers" has drawn Korean mission's attention and has caused confusion with, the term "Frontier Mission", which has traditionally been known among mission board. Some understands the Mission Frontiers as a new paradigm and as a new concept, which Ralph Winter addresses and which would substitute the mission for the unreached. It is required for the Korean church obtain a clear understanding about the Mission Frontier and change their way of thinking based on the correct understanding of both Mission Frontiers and Frontier Mission. Furthermore we need to realize that Intellectual Frontier is the new challenging frontier field that Ralph Winter addresses and which requires the active participation. In consideration of the short history of the Korean mission and the circumstances where the Frontier Mission for the unreached is not active, I believe that Korean mission needs to establish and revitalize Frontier Mission, which is the core of the modern mission movement, in order for the Korean mission to perform its responsibility; so for that reason it is clear that the Korean mission needs to fulfill its role on the extension of the Kingdom of God toward the unreached people in the twenty-first century. Therefore, it is required to examine the status of the Korean mission, and establishment of the Frontier Mission. In order to revitalize the traditional Frontier Mission for the Korean mission; this study will first look into the definition of Frontier Mission and its field; and analyze the condition of Frontier Mission and its assignment; and lastly search the effective mission strategy for the Frontier Mission.
