국문 초록

본 연구는 이주노동자의 교육프로그램 참여, 사회적지지 및 문화적응 간의 관계에 대해 살펴보았다. 궁극적으로는 이주노동자의 한국문화에 대한 적응 방안을 모색하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 충남 A지역에 거주하는 이주노동자 218명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여 분석에 사용했다. 연구 결과는 첫째, 이주노동자가 한국에서 체류하는 동안 문화적응에 많은 어려움을 경험하는 시기는 1-2년 사이로 나타났으며, 이 시기에 교육프로그램 참여도 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 이주노동자의 교육프로그램 참여와 사회적지지는 그들의 문화적응과 유의미한 상관관계가 나타났다. 셋째, 이주노동자의 교육프로그램 참여 정도가 그들의 문화적응에 가장 큰 영향을 미치고 있었다. 결과적으로 이주노동자들의 문화적응에는 교육프로그램 참여와 사회적지지가 매우 중요함을 알 수 있었다. 이를 토대로 향후 이주노동자들을 위한 다양한 문화학습 관점의 교육프로그램이 개발, 운영되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study reviewed the correlations among participation of migrant workers in education programs, social support, and their acculturation. The ultimate purpose of this study is to seek for an adaptation plan to Korean culture for migrant workers. For the purpose, this study collected materials from 218 migrant workers residing in “A” area in Chuncheongnam-do for analysis. The result findings were as follows. First, migrant workers had a lot of difficulties in their acculturation most during the 1st and 2nd year of their stay. Also, their participation in education programs were indicated high during the period. Second, participation of migrant workers in education programs and social support had significant correlations with their acculturation. Third, the participation level of migrant workers in education programs had greatest influence on their acculturation. In conclusion, it was found that participation in education programs and social support are very important for easy acculturation of migrant workers. Based on the research results, various cultural learning education programs are required to be developed and operated in future for migrant workers.
