영문 초록

This article discusses the residents' perception of further tourism development of the already developed Jungmun tourist complex and the proposed Sungsangpo tourist complex on Jeju island. The data for the study came from a self-administered questionnaire survey of residents near these tourist complexes. The local tourism development can be undertaken only when the results of the development have positive impact on all inhabitants with the minimum of negative effect on them. This study offers insightful suggestion regarding tourism development planning and policies.
