국문 초록

본 연구는 노인장기요양보험법에 의해 운영되는 장기요양기관에서 생활하는 노인들의 성 행동/표현에 대한 요양보호사의 성 태도를 확인하고 성 인식과의 관계성을 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경기 지역에서 시설급여만을 제공하는 장기요양기관에서 근무하는 120명의 요양보호사로부터 구조화된 설문 자료를 수집하였다. 노인의 성 인식은 SASBA의 성 행동 유형에 기초하였으며, 성 태도를 측정하기 위한 도구는 ASKAS의 문항을 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0 프로그램을 통해 기술통계, t/F검증 및 이항 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실행하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 요양보호사의 성 태도는 다소 허용적 태도를 보였으나, 직업에 의한 개방적 성 태도와 사회문화적으로 형성된 보수적 성향이 공존하고 있음이 확인되었다. 노인의 성 행동에 대한 요양보호사의 성 인식과 성 태도 간에 유의미한 영향력은 성 태도에 따라 노인의 성을 다르게 인식하고 대응방법에 차이가 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 요양보호사는 노인의 성 희롱에 노출되어 심각한 스트레스를 받고 있음이 확인되었다. 따라서 노인의 성에 대한 이해도를 높이고 수용적/허용적 태도를 증진시킬 수 있는 지속적인 교육과 시설 내 성 관련 정책 및 대응 지침을 마련하여 노인의 성 권리 증진과 노인의 성 희롱/폭력 예방을 위한 제도적, 행정적 체계가 형성되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to examine and identify the associations between the care-takers' attitudes and perceptions regarding sexual behaviors of the aged in long-term care facilities. By using binary logistic regression with SPSS 20.0, data from 120 care-takers were analyzed to examine the probabilistic influence of the relationship between the attitudes and perceptions of the sexuality. The results showed that the care-takers' attitudes toward the expression of sexuality by the elderly tended to be more permissive in general. However, their professional duties seemed to lead to a shift toward more positive/permissive attitudes; otherwise more conservative in their socio-cultural background. The finding showed that the attitudes had significant influence on the responses to the sexuality and confirmed that care-takers' perceptions and responses were largely determined by their attitudes toward the sexuality of the elderly. In addition, the result showed that they have suffered from sexual abuse by sexual expressions of the aged in which they are under high level of stress. On the basis of the findings, it is advised to provide sexual education as well as set up policy and formal procedures for the sexual issues in order to advocate sexual rights of the aged and protect the care-takers from the sexual expressions.
