청소년 비행유형 간의 관계

국문 초록

범죄경력의 전문화란 일반적으로 같은 종류의 비행이나 범죄를 지속적으로 범하는 경향을 지칭하는 반면 일반화란 특정범죄의 반복이 아닌 다양한 범죄를 기회가 닿는 대로 행하는 것을 말한다. 이 연구는 한국청소년 패널조사의 초등패널 자료를 대상으로 청소년의 재산비행과 폭력비행의 종단적 변화유형을 살펴보고, 이 두 변화유형들이 시간에 따라 어떠한 연관성을 가지고 있는지를 파악하여 청소년 비행의 전문화와 일반화(다양화)에 대하여 경험적으로 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 준모수적 집단중심 모형과 이중변화형태 모형을 적용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 재산비행의 변화유형은'무비행'집단(81.88%),'저수준 지속'집단(13.02%), 그리고'저수준 증가'집단(5.10%)로 분류되었다. 폭력비행의 변화유형은'무비행'집단(55.42%),'저수준 감소' 집단(25.58%),'저수준 증가'집단(7.87%),'고수준 지속'집단(5.96%), 그리고'고수준 급감'집단(5.17%)으로 분류되었다. 비행의 전문화와 관련하여서는 재산비행이나 폭력비행을 지속적으로 저지르는 경우에 폭력비행은 비행의 전문화 경향을 보이고 있으나, 재산비행의 경우에는 비행의 전문화 경향과 일반화 경향이 동시에 나타나고 있다.

영문 초록

Offense specialization has been defined and measured as the tendency to repeat the same offense type on successive crimes or the overrepresentation of particular offenses within the careers of certain offending. Empirical investigations have explored the relationship between offense frequency and specialization, and a number of important insights have been have been garnered. However, previous research on offense specialization has generated mixed findings. Some studies have presented evidence supporting the specialization concept and still others have found no such evidence. The purpose of this study was to empirically test specialization of violence and property delinquency. More specifically, the aim of the this study was to examine trajectories and the link between violence and property delinquency over time. For the analysis, this study applied the semiparametric group-based model and dual trajectory model and used the 1st(4th grade elementary school) through the 5st(2nd grade middle school) annual datasets of the Korea Youth Panel Survey. The results of this study are as follows. First, developmental trajectories of property delinquency could classify in three groups: Non-delinquent group(81. 88%), low-level sustainable group(13.02%), low-level increasing group(5.10%). And, Violent delinquency could classify in five groups: Non-delinquent group(55.42%), low-level decreasing group(25.58%), low-level increasing group(7.87%), high-level sustainable group(5.96%), high-level sharply group. Next, this study found evidence supporting the specialization concept in only violent delinquency while, there was no evidence of specialization in property delinquency.
