영재와 일반아 집단의 영역 창의성 비교를 통한 능력-분화가설 검증

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 고등학생을 대상으로 하여 영재와 일반아 집단의 영역별 창의성 점수의 차이와 상관관계를 비교함으로써 영역 창의성의 능력-분화가설을 검증하는 것이다. 연구 대상자로는 A 국제고와 B 일반고 학생을 목적 표집 하였으며, 이들에게 K-DOCS(Kaufman-Domains of Creativity Scale)를 실시하였다. Kaufman(2012)이 개발한 이 측정도구는 일상적, 학문적, 수행(음악/글쓰기), 기계/과학, 그리고 예술적 창의성 등 다섯 가지 영역의 창의성을 측정할 수 있는 자기보고식 문항들로 구성되어있다. 최종 분석 자료에 포함된 연구대상자 수는 217명(영재 104명, 일반아 113명)이다. 연구결과 영재 집단의 모든 영역별 창의성 점수가 일반아 집단보다 유의하게 높았으며, 영재 집단의 영역 창의성 점수들이 일반아 집단에서보다 분화된 양상을 보이는지를 알아본 결과에서는 영재 여학생 집단에서 만 영역-특수적인 양상을 나타내었다. 반면, 영재 남학생 집단에서는 영재 여학생 집단 및 일반아 남ㆍ여학생 집단에 비해 영역 창의성 점수들 간에 현저하게 높은 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 하여, 고등학생의 시기에는 창의성이 영역-특수적이기보다는 영역-일반적인 양상에 좀 더 가깝고, 영재 여학생 집단에서만 능력-분화가설이 확인된다고 결론지을 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims at verifying creative ability-differentiation hypothesis through comparing difference and correlation in domain creativity scores between gifted and general groups for high school students. Purposeful sampling was done for A international high school and B general high school, and K-DOCS(Kaufman-Domains of Creativity Scale) was conducted. This scale is composed of self-report items measuring 5 domains creativity including everyday, academic, performative(music/writing), mechanic/scientific and artistic creativity. The number of subjects contained in the final analytic data is 217(gifted 104, general 113). Research findings show that every domain-creativity score of the gifted group was significantly higher than that of the general group. As the result of examining whether gifted group's domain-creativity scores show differentiated aspects than the general group, only gifted girl group showed domain-specificity. On the other hand, gifted boy group showed significantly higher positive correlations among domain-creativity scores than gifted girl group and general boyㆍgirl groups. Findings of this research show that creativity is more domain-general than domain-specific in high school students. In conclusion, ability-differentiation hypothesis may be verified from only gifted girl student group. This study has significance in that it provides empirical data on domaincreativity for high school students.
