청년기 손자녀와 조부모의 공유활동에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 조부모와 대학생 손자녀가 함께 하는 활동에 대해 알아보고 그러한 활동을 영역별로 분류함과 동시에 이러한 활동 영역에 영향을 미치는 변인을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 대학생 274명을 대상으로 질문지를 통해 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생 손자녀는 조부모와 '공휴일, 생일, 명절 등에 함께 지내기', '함께 텔레비전 보기, '함께 식사하거나 함께 자기'와 같은 활동을 많이 하며, '서로 편지하기, '함께 운동하기', '운동경기나 영화관람하기'와 같은 활동은 적게 하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 대학생 손자녀가 조부모와 함께 하는 활동은 원조 활동, 동반 활동, 사교 활동의 3영역으로 분류되었다. 셋째, 대학생 손자녀의 성이나 출생순위, 조부모의 교육수준 등은 공유활동에 전혀 영향을 미치는 변인이 아니었고, 손자녀의 조손관계의 중요성 인식여부, 모의 취업여부, 부모의 조손관계 중요성 인식여부, 동거 여부와 접촉빈도는 공유활동에 영향을 미치는 변인이었다. 이와 같이 조손간의 공유활동에 나이나 성과 같은 사회인구학적 변인이 별로 중요하지 않은 반면, 조부모와 접촉할 수 있는 기회나 부모 및 손자녀가 조손관계의 중요성을 인식하는 정도는 중요하게 작용되는 것으로 밝혀진 본 연구의 결과는 조손관계 향상을 위한 프로그램 작성에 대단히 의미 있는 시사를 해준다. 즉 대학생 손자녀와 조부모간의 공유활동 증진을 통한 관계향상을 위해 무엇보다도 접촉기회의 제공과 부모와 손자녀의 조손관계에 대한 의식함양이 중요하다는 점이다. 따라서 조손간의 경험을 위한 기회마련과 손자녀와 부모 세대를 위한 가족생활 교육이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the shared activities of grandparents and grandchildren to prepare the intergenerational program to enhance the grandparent/grandchild relationship. The subjects were 274 college students in Chonbuk and Kyungnam province and statistics employed for the analysis were means, standard deviations, factor analysis, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test and t-test. The study findings were as following : 1. The best shared activities were 'Being together in holidays, family event, reunions', 'Watching TV. together', 'Eating or spending the night together', 'Pointing out each other's mistakes', and 'giving money or gift to each other'. 2. The activity types shared by grandparent and grandchild in this study were categorized into three-assistance activity, companionship activity and sociability activity. 3. The significant variables influencing the shared activities were the attitude of grandchildren and parents in the grandparent/grandchild relationship, whether or not the grandchild's mother worked, living arrangement of grandparents, and the frequency of contact. Also age, health status, economic level of grandparents and whether grandparents were paternal or maternal were partially effective variables on the shared activities. Education level of grandparents, birth order and gender of the grandchildren were not significant variables.
