국문 초록

17세기 전반기 러시아는 여전히 중세 봉건적인 사회경제체제를 유지하고 있었고, 서구와는 달리 오히려 사회경제적으로 봉건적 관계가 확대되고 있었다. 그러나 이와 동시에 러시아는 사회경제 제 분야에서 중세로부터 근대로의 이행기적 현상들도 16세기 후반 이래 지속적으로 나타나고 또 강화되고 있었다. 도시 및 그 주변 지역을 중심으로 자본주의적 생산 관계와 상업거래가 나타나고, 교환화폐의 단일화를 기반으로 하는 전국적인 단일 시장이 형성되기 시작하였다. 이러한 새로운 경제 발전과정에서 주된 역할을 한 것이 '상업 자본'과 '상인들'이었다. 그러나 당시 러시아 상인들의 활동과 규모는 러시아 경제체제가 본격적으로 근대적인 자본주의적 상공업 체제로 이행하고 있다고 단정 할 만큼 큰 것은 아니었다. 러시아 상인들에게 상거래 활동을 촉진하고, 나아가 러시아 상업자본의 형성에 커다란 영향을 준 것은 서유럽 상인들이었다. 이들 서유럽 상인들은 러시아 상인들과의 적극적인 상업교류활동을 통해 형성되기 시작하던 全 러시아 단일시장의 발전을 촉진하고, 그들을 서유럽 제국과 연결하는 역할을 주도했다. 따라서 이들의 자본과 상거래 활동은 이 시기 러시아 상공업 자본의 형성과 확대에 매우 중요한 역할을 하였다. 특히 네덜란드 상인들은 러시아와의 상교역을 주도하면서 러시아의 자본주의적 생산 및 상업발전에 커다란 역할을 미쳤다. 그러나 이러한 네덜란드 상인들이 차지하는 비중과 중요성에 비해 이들에 대한 구체적인 연구는 아직까지 매우 미미하다. 본 연구는 17세기 전반기 네덜란드 상인들의 교역활동을 구체적으로 밝히는 계량적 연구 시도이다. 즉 아르한겔스크를 중심으로 러시아와의 상교역에 종사했던 네덜란드 상인들의 숫자와 명부, 거래량과 거래 품목 그리고 그들의 거주 형태 등을 고문서 보관소의 미발간 자료들을 검토하여 드러내려는 것이다. 본 연구를 통해 17세기 전반기 네덜란드 상인들이 영국 등 타 서유럽 제국 상인들에 비해 러시아와의 상교역을 압도적으로 주도했음이 계량적으로도 입증되었으며, 그들의 명부와 구체적인 활동 사례들을 밝힐 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The author here tried to find out the concrete realities of commercial contact between Russian and The Dutch via Archangelsk in the period of the first half of 17th century. This study is based upon the unpublished materials of the Embassy Department(Posolsky Prikaz) of Central State Archives of Ancient Writs in Moscow. Statistical data supplied by the materials permitted the author to make the conclusion that the scale of the trade was not vast, with the Dutch importing goods intended for the wealthiest people of the population, such as jewelry, expensive textiles, spices and wine. Since the first half of 17th century West-European trade with Archangelsk was conducted mainly by the Dutch. The Dutch merchants had led to trade in Archangelsk with Russia in the first half of seventeenth century. From the mid-16th century, the early development of capitalism in Russia had been appeared, including uniform nationwide market. But Western european merchant's capital and trade was important in the formation of Russia's initial commercial capital in 16~17 century. The English merchant first had advanced to the trade with Russia market. But The Dutch merchants soon had surpassed them in its trading volume. They had engaged in trading in Arhangelsk and played leading role in the first half of 17th century. In the first half of 17th century the commercial relation between The Dutch and Russia was strated by the Dutch constructing merchant vessels and warships together with Russians in Archangelsk, which proved to be an important connecting-link in the relations of Russia and The Dutch. Also economic connections of The Dutch and Russia in the 17th century enriched culture of Russian North. It was supplied with copper, iron, finished articles including clocks, delft ware and china, mirrors and many other thing. The author could find out Dutch merchants names, trading volume and items through materials of in some of Russian national archives.
