초등학생의 학교 만족도에 영향을 미치는 학교특성 및 교육활동 요인 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 초등학생의 학교 만족도에 영향을 미치는 학교 특성과 교육활동 요인을 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해서 A도교육청의 2012학년도 학교평가에서 실시된 학생 대상 만족도 설문조사 자료를 토대로 A도 전체 초등학교 352개교를 분석단위로 하였다. 학교 특성과 관련된 자료는 각 학교의 NEIS, 정보공시, 에듀파인 탑재된 것들을 추가로 수집 활용하였다. 연구에 사용된 종속변인인 학생의 만족도는 A도 교육청에서 소속 초등학교 4학년부터 6학년까지의 학생을 대상으로 전수 실시된 설문조사 결과에 대한 학교별 평균값이다. 독립변인은 크게 학교특성, 교육지원노력 및 교육활동 등으로 구분하였다. 학교특성과 관련해서는 학교소재지, 학교규모, 학교의 SES(기초생활수급자학생 비율), 교원당학생수, 여교사비율 등을, 교육지원 노력과 관련해서는 혁신학교 여부, 교원당 연간 직무연수실적, 학생당 직접교육비 등을, 교육활동과 관련해서는 동아리 참여율, 방과후학교 참여율, 생활지도 프로그램 운영실적 등을 적용하였다. 본 연구의 분석 결과, 교원당 학생수, 학생당 직접교육비, 방과후학교 참여율 등 세 개 변인이 학생만족도에 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 교원당 학생수가 적을수록 그리고 학생 1인당 직접교육비가 많을수록, 방과후 학교 참여율이 높은 학교일수록 학생만족도가 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 학생의 학교생활 전반이 안전하고 학업에 열중하기 위해서는 그만큼 교원이 중요하고 재정지원이 안정적으로 뒷받침되어야 한다는 것을 반증하는 것으로 볼 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the school characteristics and educational activities affecting on student satisfaction. To do research, the data for Students' Satisfaction Survey was used at the 352 elementary schools of "A" educational province. School characteristics and educational activities were also collected by NEIS and EDUFINE. All of the variables were analyzed in the level of school. Student satisfaction, as the dependent variable, was the school average value of the students survey from fourth grade to sixth grade in elementary school. The independent variables were classified by school characteristics, educational support efforts, and educational activities. School characteristics consists of school location, school size, school Social and Economic Status(Basic Living Security student ratio), number of students per teacher, and female teacher ratios. The educational support efforts include annual times of on-the-job training per teacher, direct educational cost per student, and whether the school was selected as the innovation school or not. The educational activities consist of participation rates of students in the club activities and after-school programs, and operations of life guidance programs. The results of this study show that the number of students per teacher, direct educational cost per student, and participation rates of students in after-school programs were three significant variables that affect student satisfaction. In other words, the fewer the number of students per teacher, the more direct educational cost per student, and the higher participation rates of students in after-school programs brought out the higher student satisfaction. The results of this research suggest that it is important to decrease class size and back up the financial support for students in order to feel safe at school and enthuse the academic life.
