군산거주 일본인의 귀환과정에 나타난 지역적 특성

국문 초록

This paper analysed the characteristics in population of Japanese people lived in Gunsan and Okgu area, and drawed the localities in formation and activities of Gunsan Sewakai as autonomous organization in relation to repatriation of colonials through the investigation on the resources written by residents there. The most important task of this paper is to find out local features of Gunsan comparing to Seoul and Busan which I had already researched. I tried to find out the localities in the memoirs of repatriates concerned as far as possible. And I tried to realize partly my critical point that we need to have multilateral sight towards repatriations of Japanese people in Korea under the definition of localities. We can confirm that Japanese community in Gunsan, in spite of distorted colonial society, had higher fixedness than other areas. Thus the fixedness made Gunsan’s colonials want to remain there even after the liberation of Korea. Duration around 6 months of Gunsan’s Sewakai was shorter than Seoul or Busan, but it sustained comparatively stable executive members. And it started its first mission procuring the ships for voluntary repatriates from Gunsan Port as notable activity. It also had to fulfill the instructions for unconditional banishment under the occupation of U.S. armed forces, but the activities can’t be seen so much in the related documents.

영문 초록

この論文は、解放直前の時期に、群山と沃溝地域に居住していた日本人の人口構成における特徴を分析し、解放直後の群山日本人世話会の結成過程や組織活動を史料に基づいて確認することによって、日本人引揚の地域的特徴を見い出すものである。すでに研究されたソウルと釜山の世話会組織と比べながら、群山の地域性を見つけるものである。なるべく世話会の関係者によって書かれた回顧録を中心に、群山地域における日本人の引揚過程と、これをめぐる世話会の活動を整理した。在朝日本人の引揚に向けて、複眼的な見方をもって見るべきであるという問題意識は、史料や先行研究の検証を通じた地域性の究明により、部分的ではあるものの実現しようとした。 解放直前の群山地域における日本人の状況では、歪曲された形ではあったものの、他の地域とくにソウルや釜山と比較すれば、日本人の現地定着性が非常に高かったことが最も刮目すべきことである。したがって解放直後の引揚過程においても、一般民間人の‘残留’の動きが他の地域に比べて相対的に強かったという、地域的特徴が伺われるのである。群山世話会の組織をソウルや釜山と比較して言えば、6ヶ月程度の短い存続期間で終わったが、その間釜山よりは相対的に安定した役員構成を維持していた。また群山世話会の組織活動の面では、結成初期において地域居住の日本人の権益擁護のために働く中で、個別的な引揚のために船舶を手配したことが特記すべきである。それから米軍の進駐の後では、計画引揚のための援護活動を余儀なくされたが、この活動の記録はあまり残されていない。
