국문 초록

秋史 金正喜는 서예에 대한 생각을 論書詩로 남겼다. 추사의 논서시는 서예에 대한 그의 이론과 사상을 가장 집약적이고 실질적으로 살펴볼 수 있는 자료이다. 이에 『阮堂全集』 9, 10권의 시를 토대로 논서시를 정리하고 이를 분석했다. 추사의 시ㆍ서ㆍ화론을 보면 그가 藝術家로서 살아간 것을 알 수 있다. 그가 論文 형식의 글보다는 시와 서예, 전각 등의 예술작품을 위주로 創作活動을 했으며 創新을 위한 法古를 주장했기 때문이다. 그래서 누구보다 창작을 위한 學習을 중요시했으며 이 때문에 여러 相反된 예술이론들도 綜合하여 받아들일 수 있었다. 보다 獨創적인 작품을 창작하기 위해 자신의 시대에게서 가까운 작품부터 個性을 살피고 그것의 法則性을 찾아나가는 식의 學習法을 택했다. 작가 자신이 누구보다 자기 분야의 專門家가 되기를 원했고 그러기 위해 많은 작품을 접하고 正統系譜를 熟知해야 함을 강조한 것이다. 본고는 추사 논서시의 배경이 되는 예술사상을 토대로 추사의 논서시를 모두 조사하고 여기에 드러난 추사의 藝術境界를 學書觀, 批評觀, 藝術觀으로 분류해 살펴보았다. 추사는 근원을 찾아가는 공부에 전력을 다해 책에서 사실을 조사하고 만권의 서적을 관철하는 것만이 實事求是라고 경계했다. 추사는 이를 토대로 금석학과 고증학과 관련한 시를 통해 실사구시적인 학습방법을 표현했다. 또한 書如其人의 논지로 그 사람의 서예를 비평한 시를 남겼다. 추사는 작품 자체에 주목하며 나름의 노력을 더해가는 일본의 작가들과 문화수준의 발전을 좋게 평가했다. 이는 사람이 작품을 만들어가며 인격을 완성해 나가듯이 작품이 또한 그 사람의 인격을 다듬어나갈 수 있다고 생각했기 때문이다. 마지막으로 추사가 주목한 物我一體의 예술관은 마음속에 있는 楊家적인 감정을 글씨 하나로 모두 승화시킨 것을 말한다. 그는 자연과 사람들의 일상을 自由自在로 표현한 서예에 관한 시를 남겼다. 추사의 물아일체적 예술관은 도가와 그 맥이 닿아 있으면서도 추사가 본질적으로 추구한 유가사상에 뿌리를 두고 있다. 이상의 연구 결과 추사의 논서시에서는 실사구시의 학서관, 서여기인의 비평관, 물아일체의 예술관의 예술경계를 드러냄을 알 수 있다. 또한 추사의 논서시는 그의 서예관을 직접적으로 살펴볼 수 있는 좋은 자료라고 평가할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Chusa Kim Jung Hee handed down lots of poems on calligraphy. His poems provide his own superb overview of calligraphy and offer a discerning analysis of calligraphy. Furthermore, His poems on calligraphy present a comprehensive review of calligraphy itself. Therefore, the purpose of present paper is to offer an analysis of the poems and central to this paper will be 『阮堂全集』's Volume Ⅸ, Ⅹ. Chusa expressed his own thought on calligraphy in strong terms with feeling. Therefore, this article attempts exploring his philosophy of art and considers that his philosophical backgrounds is based on poetics and the theory of calligraphy. When we study Chusa's theory, we can easily find that he was an artist, because his main works are not academic papers but artworks such as poems and calligraphy. And he insisted on 法古 for 創新. His main thought is that practice to create artworks is more important than others. So, he could accept lots of theories and combine incompatible theories of art. Chusa accepted unique methodology which examine characteristics of contemporary arts and then find a rule. He wanted to be an expert in his field and insisted on having insight throughout much of art and authentic pedigree. This paper examines all of his poems on calligraphy on the basis of Chusa's philosophy of art and classifies them into three groups that are ‘學書觀’, ‘批評觀’, and ‘藝術觀’. Chusa kept strict watching to do ‘實事求是’ that investigates the fact in books and accomplishes the thousand books. He encouraged the study of looking for the origin. He wrote lots of poetry about ‘實事求是’ methods of study including epigraphy and the study of ancient documents. He also wrote critical poems on the calligrapher's works in the point of view of the ‘書如其人’. Chusa evaluated Japanese Calligraphers' works and their development of cultural level. Because his thought was not only that man makes works but also that works make man's personality. Finally, Chusa pointed out artistic points of view of ‘物我一體’ that sublimates conflicting feelings to Calligraphy. He handed down poems on the calligrapher's works that expressed nature and people's daily life. Chusa's artistic point of view of ‘物我一體’ has Taoist philosophy and Confucianism which Chusa pursued essentially. Chusa's poems on calligraphy express the point of view of Calligraphy in methodology of ‘實事求是’, and implicates critical point of view of ‘書如其人’ and ‘物我一體’. His poems on calligraphy are very important data that could travel his the viewpoint of the Calligraphy.
