영문 초록

Korean government has enforced New Anti-Prostitution Acts (NAPAs) which discriminate sex criminal women from sex victim women, though both of them are involved in the same prostitution case. To examine the appropriateness of NAPAs, this study researches whether both groups of women have the different socialpsychological characteristics. Seventy-eight women under the probation - i.e. sex criminal group - and ninety-six women staying in protection sites - i.e. sex victim group - are selected for questionnaires and interviews. According to the result of analysis, it is discovered that women in sex victim group have much more disadvantaged backgrounds and sufferings than the other group has. Though this research basically corroborates the NAPAs policy position, the ways to treat the both groups needs to be considered carefully by further studies.
