청소년이 지각한 사회적지지 체계와 학급응집력 및 학교적응과의 관계

국문 초록

청소년기는 적응에 있어 많은 어려움과 스트레스를 경험할 수 있는 시기이며, 청소년을 둘러싼 여러 환경적 요인 중 사회적 지지는 청소년 적응에 의미 있는 영향을 미치는 요인으로 알려져 왔다. 본 연구는 중학생이 지각한 사회적지지 체계와 학급응집력 및 학교적응과의 관계를 규명하고자 하였다. U광역시 소재 중학생 518명을 대상으로 사회적지지 체계, 학급응집력, 학교적응을 조사하여, 요인간의 관계를 연구하였다. 통계적 분석을 위하여 요인분석과 단순회귀분석 및 중다회귀분석을 실시하였으며, 그 결과, 첫째, 사회적지지 체계의 급우, 친구, 교사는 학급응집력에 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사회적지지 체계의 교사, 부모는 학교 적응의 수업참여도에 정적 영향을 나타냈고, 사회적지지 체계의 교사, 급우는 학교 적응의 학교생활만족도에 정적 영향을 나타냈으며, 사회적지지 체계의 교사는 학교 적응의 학업성취도에 정적 영향을 나타냈다. 그리고 사회적지지 체계의 친구는 학교 적응의 문제행동에 정적영향을, 급우는 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 학급응집력이 학교적응의 수업참여도, 학교생활만족도, 학업성취도에 각각 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 언구의 결과를 통해 청소년기의 학교적응을 높이기 위해서는 부모나 교사, 급우, 친구와 같은 사회적 지지체계와 학교응집력이 중요한 역할을 한다는 점을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

Adolescence is the time when youths have a lot of stress and difficulties in adaptation. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among perceived social support systems, class cohesiveness, and school adaptation in middle school students. The subjects of this study were 518 middle school students in ‘U’ city. The study used questionnaires of social support systems, class cohesiveness, and school adaptation. The results were analyzed with exploratory factor analysis and multiple regression analysis. The statistical level of significance was set at p＜0.05 by using SPSS 18.0 for Windows. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, classmates, friends, and teachers of social support system had a positive effect on class cohesiveness. Secondly, teachers and parents of social support system had a positive effect on the class participation in school adaptation. Teachers and classmates of social support systems had a positive effect on school life satisfaction in school adaptation. Friends of social support systems had a positive effect on academic achievement in school adaptation. Furthermore, friends of social support systems have a positive effect on problematic behaviors in school adaptation, while classmates had a negative effect. Thirdly, school cohesiveness had a positive effect on class participation, school life satisfaction, and academic achievement respectively. We conclude that social support systems, such as parents, teachers, classmates, friends, and school cohesion have an important role to play to improve the school adjustment of adolescence by the results of this study.
