국문 초록

이 글은 백두산 지역의 중국ㆍ북한 국경에 대한 답사기이다. 임간통시도(林間通視道)를 거쳐 흑석구를 답하고 동남안(岸)에 있는 토퇴를 확인하였으며, ‘도화선(圖和線)’ 도로 남쪽에서 토퇴군을 새로 발견하였다. 또 천지 최고봉인 장군봉 동남쪽 5킬로미터에서 정계비터를 확인하고 그 앞에서 시작되는 흑석구와 동남안에 있는 석퇴를 확인하였다. 흑석구 하류에 대한 답사를 통하여 흑석구에서 흐르던 물이 송화강 상류에 흘러드는 것이 아니라 전부 땅속에 스며들어 없어지며, 이 보다 앞서 골짜기가 먼저 자취를 감춘다는 사실을 확인하였다. 결론적으로 흑석구가 송화강 상류에 이어진 것이 아니라 주로 마른 골짜기로 존재하며, 흑석구와 두만강 사이에 목책과 토돈이 설치되어 있으며, 이것이 옛 경계라는 실물적 증거를 찾게 되었다.

영문 초록

The article refers to Chinese-North Korea border explorations in the Changbai Mountain districts. The author has passed through the forest intervisibility path to investigate the Black Stone Ditch. The mounds got confirmed on the southeastern bank of the Black Stone Ditch, and some new mounds were found south of the Tumen-Helong Highway. The former site of the Boundary Monument was confirmed 5 kilometers away from the southeast of the general peak which is the highest peak of Tianchi. In front of the monument, the source of the Black Stone Ditch got confirmed and the mounds were found on the southeastern bank of Black stone ditch. Moreover, by investigating the downstream of the Black Stone Ditch, it revealed that the water of the Black Stone Ditch did not flow into the upstream of the Songhua River, but all infiltrate into the ground. Before this the ditch has been vanished. In brief, the Black Stone Ditch is not connected with the upstream of the Songhua River but exists in the form of dry ditch. There exist palings and mounds between the Black Stone Ditch and the Tumen River. The physical evidences have proved they are the former boundaries.
