‘한글 창제의 원리’의 교육 내용에 대한 비판적 고찰

국문 초록

한글은 우리나라의 국자(國字)가 된 이후로 중요한 교육 내용으로 다루어졌다. 한글에 관한 교육 내용 중 ‘한글 창제의 원리’는 가장 기본적이고 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 이에 본고는 ‘한글 창제의 원리’의 교육 내용이 제대로 이루어지고 있는지 살피고자 현 교육과정과 교과서를 비판적으로 고찰하였다. 이를 통해 밝힌 ‘한글 창제의 원리’의 교육 내용의 문제점과 그 대안을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교과서마다 한글 자모의 창제 원리 설정 및 명명에 있어서 다르게 기술되어 있다. 이는『훈민정음』의 ‘제자해’에 입각하여 자모의 창제원리를 일관되게 설정하고, 통일된 명명으로 제시해야 한다. 이에 본고는 자음의 창제 원리는‘상형’,‘가획’,‘이체’의 원리로, 모음의 창제 원리는‘상형’,‘합성’의 원리로 설정하여 명명할 것을 제시한다. 둘째, 교과서마다‘치음(ㅅ)’,‘후음(ㅇ)’의 발음기관 단면도는 차이가 있다. 이 같은 양상은 한글 창제 원리의 해석에 이견이 존재하기 때문이다. 따라서 교과서에서는‘발음기관 단면도’와 함께‘치음(ㅅ)’,‘후음(ㅇ)’의 상형 대상과 방법에 대한 추가적인 설명이 필요하다. 또한‘발음기관 단면도’의 지나친 추상성으로 인해 발음기관의 명확한 구분이 어려우므로, 실제 발음기관의 단면도가 함께 제시되어야 한다. 셋째, 교과서 본문 제재로『훈민정음』의‘제자해’는 교과서마다 다양한 방식으로 제시되어 있다. 그러나‘현대어 풀이’방식이 적합하다.‘현대어 풀이’ 방식은‘제자해’의 기술(記述) 자체에 대한 이해를 높이고,『훈민정음』의 해석에 관한 학자들의 이견을 중립적으로 제시할 수 있는 방식이기 때문이다. 넷째, 교과서에 실린 삽화 자료의 서지 정보가 부재한 경우가 많았다. 이는 학습자의 학습 내용의 이해를 도울 수 있도록 서지 정보가 반드시 제시되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

Hangeul have been treated as crucial educational contents since the establishment of National Curriculum. ‘Hangeul's inventable principle’ of educational contents about Hangeul takes basic and important place. hence, this paper critically considered for current curriculum and textbook to properly treat ‘Hangeul's inventable principle’ Problems and alternatives of educational contents of‘Hangeul's inventable principle’ is summarized as follows. First, textbooks are differently described setting and naming‘Hangeul consonant and vowel's inventable principle’. ‘Hangeul consonant and vowel's inventable principle’ should be consistently set based on ‘Hun-min-jeong-eum(訓民正音) Jejahae(制字解)’ and presented as commonly naming. therefore, It is named that consonant's inventable principle is ‘pictograph(象形)’, ‘stroke addition(加劃)’, ‘variant form(異體)’ vowel's inventable principle is ‘hierogly phics’, ‘Synthesis’. Second, textbooks are different from cross section of the vocal organs of ‘dental consonant(ㅅ)’ and ‘guttural consonant(ㅇ)’. This is because there are differences in interpretation of Hangeul's inventable principle. so, textbook should describe additional explanation of Hieroglyphic targets and methods of dental consonant(ㅅ) and guttural consonant(ㅇ). also, it is hard for the vocal organs to clearly distinguish due to over abstractive ‘cross section of the vocal organs’. for the reason, non abstractive ‘cross section of the vocal organs’ should be additionally described Third, Hun-min-jeong-eum Jejahae is described as various ways in every textbook. But Modern language description is suitable way. It can improve understanding about on its own Jejahae description and can neutrally present different views of scholars. Fourth, in some textbooks, there are many cases which are absent from a bibliography information of illustration materials. bibliographic information should be necessarily presented to assist the learner's understanding about educational contents.
