국문 초록

배경 및 목적: 본 연구에서는 다문화가정의 조음음운장애아동 어머니들과 일반아동 어머니들의 전반적인 한국어능력을 비교함으로써 어머니의 한국어능력과 아동의 조음음운능력의 관련성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 방법: 다문화가정 3~4세 아동의 어머니 중에서 조음음운장애아동 어머니 9명과 일반아동 어머니 12명을 대상으로 조음음운능력(단어반응 자음정확도, 연결발화 자음정확도, 명료도), 음운인식능력, 표현어휘력, 그리고 구문의미이해력을 평가한 후, 집단 간 차이를 알아보기 위해서 Mann-Whitney U 검정을 실시하였다. 결과: 다문화가정의 두 어머니 집단 간 조음음운능력, 음운인식능력, 구문의미 이해력, 표현어휘력에 유의한 차이가 있었다. 또한 모든 과제에서 나타난 두 어머니 집단의 평균점수는 취학 전 일반아동의 수준이었다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구 결과를 통해 다문화가정 어머니의 한국어능력과 아동의 조음음운능력 사이에 밀접한 관계가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Background & Objectives: This study investigated whether Korean language proficiency of mothers in multicultural families affects their children’s articulation and phonological ability by comparing Korean language proficiency between the group of mothers whose children have articulation and phonological disorders and the group of mothers whose children are normal. Methods: The study included 9 mothers whose children had articulation and phonological disorders and 12 mothers whose children were normal. The children were between 3 and 4 years of age, and the mothers were the caregivers. The mothers were tested for expressive vocabulary, sentence comprehension, articulation and phonological ability, and phonological awareness ability. In order to investigate the average difference between the 2 groups, a Mann-Whitney U test was conducted. Results: There was a significant difference in articulation and phonological ability, phonological awareness, sentence comprehension, and expressive vocabulary between the groups. However, the 2 groups showed the level of a preschooler in all tests. Discussion & Conclusion: This present study helps predict that low Korean proficiency of mothers in multicultural families could affect the development of articulation and phonological ability of their children.
