소극장 창작 뮤지컬 스토리텔링 전략 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 〈오! 당신이 잠든 사이〉의 스토리텔링 전략을 분석하고, 이를 토대로 소극장 창작 뮤지컬의 발전 방안을 실천적으로 탐구하기 위한 것이다. 〈오! 당신이 잠든 사이〉의 텍스트를 분석한 결과, 이 작품에서 취하고 있는 스토리텔링 전략은 다음과 같다. 1) 유사 내력담의 반복, 2) 중심 캐릭터의 다수화, 3) 뮤지컬 음악의 기능에 충실한 노래, 4) 공간의 성격화, 5) 탄력적인 시점 변화, 6) 배경 음악의 다양한 활용, 7) 무용의 축소, 8) 무대의 전략적 간소화가 그것이다. 이를 토대로 탐색해본 소극장 창작 뮤지컬의 스토리텔링 전략은 다음과 같다. 1) 무대 전환의 용이함, 2) 인터렉티브한 구성, 3) 뮤지컬 하위 장르의 특성에 따른 소재의 다양화, 4) 관객의 상상력 이용, 5) 소극장 공연만의 즐길 거리 강화 등이 그것이다. 이러한 스토리텔링 전략은 소극장이라는 구현 매체를 염두에 두고 기획된 소극장 창작 뮤지컬이기에 가능한 방식이다. 보다 발전적인 소극장 창작 뮤지컬 제작을 위해서는 구현 매체와 장르의 특성에 대한 명확한 인식이 중요하다. 또한 창작 뮤지컬 스토리텔링 전략에 대한 실천적인 탐구와 실연 과정에서의 적극적인 적용이 필요하다.

영문 초록

〈Oh! While You Were Sleeping〉, which I want to analysis in this paper, is the most important work of well-made original musical for a little theater. This paper is for analyzing about storytelling strategy of 〈Oh! While You Were Sleeping〉 and researching for the ways of expending an original musical for a little theater on the basis of the formal analyzed result. As a result of analysis, the storytelling strategy of 〈Oh! While You Were Sleeping〉 is as follows. 1) Repetition of similar an account of the origin, 2) Increase in main characters, 3) Songs those are true to the function of Musical, 4) Characterization of space, 5) A flexible change of a visual point, 6) A diversity of practical use of background music, 7) Reduction of dancing, 8) Strategic simplification of the stage. The storytelling strategy of an original musical for a little theater is as follows. 1) Simplicity of stage changing, 2) Interactive framework, 3) Diversity of the subject matter in a character of musical subgenre, 4) Making full use of imagination of audience, 5) Performing in a little theater. This kind of storytelling strategy is only possible for a little theater original musical. It is important to understand about the medium of realization and the characteristic of the genre for the developmental creation of a little theater musical. It is also necessary to apply positively in researching and performing process about the storytelling strategy of an original musical.
