영문 초록

The purpose of the paper is to estimate the optimal size of educational budget and to propose reformative ways to finance education in Korea. First of all, we briefly review the determinants of the size of educational budget. And then, we evaluate the relevancy of the current educational budget size in Korea. Estimated size of Korea’s potential educational budget is about 3.4 trillion won more than FYl991 budget. As reformative ways to finance education, we propose to increase the size of public sector and to enlarge the level of deregulation and competition of educational provision.
