영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to regard Maek(貊) in the central part of Korean Peninsula as the entity of Malgal(靺鞨) on the basis of Baekjebongi(百濟本紀) of Samguksagi(三國史記) after Samgukji(三國志). Though the names with concepts of Yemaek(濊貊) had been very confused from old Chinese historical records, the notional entity of Yemaek was changed not in the region of Manju(滿洲) but in the parts of Korean Peninsula from Samguksagi and Huhansseo(後漢書). Analysis of this research can be summarized as followings to support the entity of Maek; 1. The records that Maek had been in the central part of Korean Peninsula were written three times on Jriji(地理志) and Bongi(本紀) of Samguksagi. From the records of Samguksagi Malgal’s frequent invasions to Baekje and Silla(新羅) mean that the location of Malgal(靺鞨) and that of Maek were overlapped. 2. Until the third century when Samgukji(三國志) was written, the name of Malgal didn’t exist in the Chinese history books. 3. On the basis of Samguksagi Ye and Maek appeared in the same reigns where Malgal invaded. Morever Ye and Maek were written Malgal in Samguksagi, which were named Yemaek. 4. The people who constructed Cheonseok-jeokseokchong(川石積石塚) might be called Maek or Malgal by double names on the baisis of Samguksagi. 5. After the end of the fourth century, Malgal’s military operations to Baekje were controlled by Nakrang’s(樂浪) instigation.
