영문 초록

This thesis deals with amnesties and special favors in the middle period of Silla. Amnesties and special favors in the middle period of Silla were written in 『Samguksagi』. In this period, the natural disasters were significantly influencing in the politics. The natural disasters were assumed to be the reprimand from the God against the wrong politics management of the prince. It was thought that this kind of conception that the prince was to be connected with the God caused the result that the royal authority was separated from the Jingol aristocracy. And only the royal authority has the right of amnesties and special favors for the calamities. King Mooyool was the first king in the day. There was no amnesty and special favor in the calamities of the King Mooyool epoch. King had the only amnesty right to the calamities in the political situation. And he dose not observe the amnesty right. King Mooyool was descendant of the King Gyngee who was knocked-out politician. This facts indicate that the limitation of royal authority in the King Mooyool. The following king, Moonmoo held amnesties with the war in the unification. These amnesties might assisted in the strengthening of royal authority. King Shinmun played to ancestors in a shrine for mercy to the calamities. His measures intended to assist in the sanctification of the direct line of King Gyngee. In King Hyoso, the natural disasters were assumed to be the reprimand from the God against the wrong politics management of the prince. However king does not exercise his prerogative of mercy. This means that the weakening of royal authority. There were the highest rate measures for the natural disasters in the King Sungduk epoch. Jingol was powerful political strength in the middle period of Silla those days. Jingol hold the exclusive economical basis and political power at that time. However king only had the right of amnesty to the people. Therefore we know that there were struggle strengthening of royal power in the King Sungduk period. The royal authority in the King Hyosung epoch who was ascended the throne followed by the King Sungduk lessened. There was not seen the right of amnesty and special favor in the King Hyosung. As a successor, King Kyungduk era had twice amnesties and special favors. This means that the royal authority in the King Kyungduk was strengthen than the era of King Hyosung. Also we know that the natural disasters were connected with the politics in the King Hyegong epoch. We observed the several king’s amnesties and special favors in the middle period of Silla. These were noticed that a high rate differences in the amnesties and special favors of the several kings in this times. This means the instability of the royal power. These situations was resulted from the Jingol nobility. They had the mighty power in the politics and economy. In conclusion, the royal authority of the middle period of Silla was functioned in the mass rule systems.
