영문 초록

1. CONTENTS (1) RESEARCH OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study is to identify the causal relationship between the determinant of an urban image, the urban image, and satisfaction with settlement based on a conclusion that it is important to improve an urban image for the establishment of the identity of Incheon and the enhancement of an urban image. (2) RESEARCH METHOD The study conducted descriptives and an exploratory factor analysis using the SPSS 14.0. Also, the study undertook a confirmatory factor analysis using the AMOS 7.0, and applied the structural equation model so as to identify the causal relationship between the determinant of an urban image, the urban image, and satisfaction with settlement. (3) RESEARCH FINDINGS All the results of verifying the research model proposed herein were analyzed to be valid. 2. RESULTS The results of analyzing the path coefficient and the level of effect using the AMOS 7.0 include the following. ① The urban growth potential was analyzed as being significantly effective in the urban image: thereby, the presumption 1 was adopted. ② The public service was discovered to have a significant effect on an urban image: thus, the presumption 2 was adopted. ③ The environmentality was found to affect significantly an urban image: thus, the presumption 3 was adopted. ④ Culturality was revealed to have a significant effect on an urban image: thereby, the presumption 4 was adopted. ⑤ The urban image was disclosed to be significantly effective in satisfaction with settlement: thus, the presumption 5 was adopted. In summarizing and comparing the standardization path coefficient based on the above research results, the following was discovered to be highly influential in this order: the environmentality, public service, growth potential, and culturality from among the determinants of an urban image. The implications obtained through these research results may help to establish information necessary for enhancing the urban image of Incheon as well as urban marketing strategies.
