국문 초록

본 논문은 카오스 이론과 프랙탈 이미지가 영상매체에서 어떻게 사용 되었는가 살펴보고 그러한 작품들을 분석 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 카오스 이론은 어떠한 계(system)가 확고한 규칙에 따라 변화하면서도 먼 미래의 상태를 예측할 수 없는 현상을 뜻한다. 그리고 프랙탈은 만델브로트가 자연계의 자기 유사성을 설명하기 위하여 만든 과학적 신조어이다. 프랙탈은 이미지의 시각적 장점으로 인해 일찍부터 컴퓨터 아트로서 자리 잡기 시작했다. 혼돈 속의 질서 또는 창조성을 내포하고 있는 카오스와 프랙탈은 현대미술에서도 작가들에게 좋은 아이디어를 제공하고 있으며 회화, 조각, 설치작품 뿐만 아니라 건축의 영역까지 이론적 바탕이 되어 조형적 미의 모델이 되고 있다. 카오스와 프랙탈은 종래의 환원적인 유클리드 기하학의 한계를 인식하고 창조적인 사고와 조형예술에 있어서 무한한 가능성을 제시하고 있다. 본 논문은 영상매체에 있어서 카오스와 프랙탈을 응용한 작품을 살펴보고 특히 영상미의 가능성에 대해 다각적으로 해석하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This paper is how did Chaos theory and fractal image apply to video(or moving picture) art and place on aim that such a art work which is being analyzed. The Chaos theory is changed by firmly rule which indicates unpredictable situation. And the Fractal image is a scientific newly word which was made by Mandelbrot and the Fractal which is to explain Self-Similarity of Nature System. The Fractal has started to be appeared as computer art by visual advantages. The Fractal which includes order out of chaos or creativity provides writers with good ideas, and become plastic beauty's good example not only painting, sculpture, installation art but also based on the area of architecture. The Chaos theory and Fractal is recognized of reductional Euclidean Geometry as limitation and suggest unlimited possibility in creative thought and plastic art. The Contemporary Art is changing more rapidly with media development and real communication than the past. Because we can't think of the core of the art as a notion and theory, the variety of contemporary art may become feature. In the work, the Chaos theory is not only confused Art. The artists whom we exampled in the main subject performed flexible thought for living artistic willing through the paradigm concluded the East and West. As a result, unique art world appeared naturally, the Chaos theory includes not only unlimited orders, but also ability and creativity which organize new structure. In the art based on creativity, Chaos theory and Fractal are enough to become the part of work and are meaningful that audience and writer can enjoy the new impression of work.
