영문 초록

This thesis examines the fact that in the late epoch of the Koryo(高麗) Dynasty. Chong Do-jeon's World View and Historical Consciousness was different from the Korean contemporaries. Based on this fact, research was performed about how Chong Do-jeon cognized the world and recognized history. The conclusion of this reserch are as follows: 1. China's view of the world order, which was China centered thought(中華思想) was established as the universal world view of the confucianists of that time as judged by the acceptance of the Neo-Confucianism that emerged during that period.(the learning of Chinese World order thought). In this context, Chong Do-jeon perceived that the Weon(元) and Myong(明)Dynasty was a country ruled by the T'ien tzu(天子) principle(Emperors of the Chinese Dynasties) endowed with the right to dominate the land by the Heaven's will(天命). And, it was also perceived that Koryo was China's subject country sanctioned by the T'ien tzu. This consciousness was based on the phenomenon of open political interchange for one to be able to enter into the service of two governments. In the transition period from Weon to Myong(明), Chong Do-jeon thought that the order of Heaven shifted to theMyong. Naturally, he sided with the new policy of the Myong Dynasty. 2. Chong Do-jeon's view of world history(history of china) was influenced by ..Zuo's Ch'un-Chiu Commentary(春秋左氏傳, 春秋左傳).. of Zuoqiu Ming (左丘明), ..Ho's Ch'un-Chiu Commentary(春秋胡氏傳).. of Hu Anguo(胡安國, 1074～1138), ..Tu-shih kuan-chien(Toksakwanky.n 讀史管見 : Humble Views on Reading History).. of Hu Yin(胡寅, 1098～1156), Zizhi tongjiangangmu(資治通鑑綱目 : Summary of the Comprehensive Mirror for Aid in Government) of Chuja(朱子, 1130～1200). 3. The term ‘paradigm' of Thomas S. Kuhn is used in two different senses. If the term ‘paradigm' can be applied in historical studies, the first mean replaces world view(this abstract 1), and the second replaces Ch'un-Chiu Commentarys, that is, historical examples(this abstract 2)."
