영문 초록

Generational conflict or generation gap has been frequently discussed in Korea. especially in mass media. Most of the articles in the Newspapers were very critical about the '8hinsedae' (new generation) . The aim of this article is to find out the differences of the articles on '8hinsedae' in Chosun Ilbo(Chosun Daily Newspapers) in the periods before and after the 'Financial Crisis in 1998'. The crisis left a profound shadow on Korea. For this reason I choose the series of articles on '386 Generation' in Chosun Ilbo which is the most influential newspapers. My article will analyse their contents. After that I will try to find out why the Chosun Ilbo changed its stance on the issue . I will analyse the new situations in newspaper market. social and economic changes in these periods, and the changing attitudes in those articles related to those factors. The Chosun Ilbo has started the generationai debate which spread to other newspapers . I will examine its effects on other newspapers.
