漢代『孝經』보급의 교육적 의의

국문 초록

한대의 효사상은 교화의 근본과 치국의 기본방침으로 이용되었다. 따라서 효의 사상을 집대성한 『효경』은 전례 없는 중시를 받으면서 한대 이후 학교와 사회에 널리 보급되었다. 한대에 『효경』이 두 루 보급된 것은 한대 통치자의 치국정책, 효의 개념에 대한 재해석,『효경』의 경학적 지위 확립 등과 관련이 있다. 이로 인해 효는 가정윤리에서 사회관계의 도덕규범으로 확대ㆍ발전되었다. 한대는 『효경』 보급을 통해 효를 가르침의 기본내용으로 삼도록 하고, 이를 통해 사회를 안정시키고자 했다. 학교에서 는 관학 및 사학기관에서『효경』을 통해 효를 가르치고, 사회에서는 효렴제, 효제, 삼노 등의 제도를 통해 부모 및 임금에게 효를 행하도록 하였다. 본 연구는 『효경』이 크게 보급되어 많은 사람들에게 읽 혀졌던 한대를 중심으로 『효경』이 보급된 배경은 무엇인지 그리고 『효경』이 학교와 사회에 어떻게 전 파되었는지를 살펴보고, 이를 통해 그 교육적 의의를 알아보고자 하였다.

영문 초록

During the Han Dynasty, the notion of filial piety was a foundation of enlightenment and a fundamental rule of national governing. Thus, the Classic of Filial Piety(孝經)which comprehensively summarizes the notion of filial piety - merited unprecedented significance after a broad spread in the society, and has been read even today. The wide spread and popularity of the Classic of Filial Piety in the Han Dynasty are attributable to the government's ruling policy, re-interpretation of concepts of filial piety, and the book's position upgraded as the scriptures. Accordingly, filial piety has evolved from family ethics into moral norms. The Han Dynasty intended to supply the Classic of Filial Piety to setfilial piety as the basic contents of learning and subsequently stabilize the society. Public and private schools taught students about filial piety with the Classic of Filial Piety while the communities encouraged people to practice filial piety for their parents and the king through establishment of masters of the book and social systems such as Xiaolian(孝廉), Xiaoti(三老) and Sanlao(孝悌) . The purpose of this study is to investigate how the spread of the Classic of Filial Piety all started in the Han Dynasty and how schools and communities popularized the book, and ultimately derive educational meanings of the book.
