국문 초록

이 논문은 헝가리어 사동법의 생성 과정을 논항구조 이론으로 설명 하고, 이를 기초로 헝가리어 사동법의 고유한 특성을 밝히는 것을 목 적으로 한다. 사동법에 대한 연구는 사동이라는 의미개념의 실현방식 을 유형화하는 언어유형학적 관점에서 많이 논의되어 왔으나 헝가리 어와 같이 형태적 사동법이 주를 이루는 언어에서는 사동 의미를 부여 하는 동사파생접사가 여러 형태로 존재하거나, 같은 형태의 파생동사 도 의미․통사적 그리고 상적 조건에 따라 타동성과 사동성으로 구분되 기 때문에 유형적 관점에서 사동법을 규정하기가 어렵다. 형태적 파생에 의해 문법범주가 표현되는 헝가리어에서 사동법은 의미․통사적 구조를 통해 해석되는 범주에 불과하며, 사동사의 제한적 파생과 자의적인 어휘적 분화 현상은 피사동주 논항의 삭제 그리고 상 적 특성에 의한 사동 기능의 약화와 더불어 사동법의 어휘범주화 현상 을 보여준다. 따라서 유형학적 관점보다는 사동법의 일반적 의미․통사 구조를 사동주(causer) 논항의 도입으로 인한 논항들의 문법기능 재 배치로 파악하고, 이와 관련해서 사동주와 피사동주 논항의 문법기능 의 결합과 사동의 의미유형을 기술한다. 또한 헝가리어에서 피사동주 의 격과 동사상의 관계, 피사동주 논항의 삭제와 타동적 의미전환 현 상을 미시적으로 살펴봄으로써 사동법의 어휘적 범주화 현상을 밝히 고자 한다.

영문 초록

This paper is aimed to explore the generative processes of the hungarian causative constructions and to discuss on their specific characters, using the theory of the argument structure. It has been commonly observed that there are three different types of causative in typological research on causative constructions; lexical, morphological and syntactic. But the causativity in Hungarian is expressed morphologically with many kinds of derivational suffixes, which form oppositional correlations with transitive vs intransitive verb-pairs. The hungarian causative also can be interpreted both in causative vs. transitive constructions according to their verbal aspects and the existence of causee argument. Thus the causativity in Hungarian is regarded as interpretative category, where there are principled semantic differences correlative with the alternative case marking patterns and grammatical function status of the causee argument. The causative construction in Hungarian tends to show the process of lexicalization through the restrictions of causative verb formation, the arbitrary selection of two different variations of causative verbal suffixes and the deletion of causee argument.
