루마니아어의 다양성

국문 초록

비록 로마인들이 현재 루마니아영토에 해당하는 당시의 다키아지방 에 170여년이라는 비교적 짧은 기간 동안 체류했음에도 불구하고 로마 문화 및 라틴어의 보급이 매우 집약적으로 실행됐다는 것은 오늘날 루 마니아어가 남동유럽 및 발칸지역에서 유일하게 로망스어로 남아 있다 는 사실이 그 증거가 될 것이다. 루마니아어는 언어계보적인 관점에서 보자면 인도·유럽어족 중에서도 이탤릭어군에 속해 있는 언어이다. 부 언하자면 루마니아어는 고대 로마제국의 민중들에 의해 구두로 표현됐 던 속라틴어로부터 유래된 언어들의 그룹인 로망스어군에서도 이탈리 아어와 함께 소위 동로망스어의 일종으로 분류되고 있으며, 지역적으 로는 발칸 로망스어로 구분된다. 루마니아어의 언어학적인 특성을 고 려해보면 음성·음운적 및 문법적인 기본 구조는 라틴어나 여타 로망스 어들, 특히 이탈리아어와 매우 유사한 편이다. 그러나 루마니아어가 구 사되고 있는 발칸지역의 역사･사회·문화 및 지리적인 여건 등으로 인해 루마니아어는 일찍이 여타 자매 언어들과의 교류가 두절됐으므로 라틴 어의 정상적인 진화과정을 밟지 못했으며 그 공백을 발칸지역의 기층 어적인 요소들과 훗날 이 지역으로 이주해온 여러 민족들의 언어들로 부터 채울 수밖에 없었다. 그런 맥락에서 보자면 현대 루마니아어에 여 타 로망스어들에서는 찾아볼 수 없는 다양한 면들이 내재돼 있다는 사 실은 당연한 이치일 것이다. 루마니아어가 지니고 있는 특성으로는 우 선 정관사의 전접어 형태나 또한 오늘날 여타 로망스어들에선 더 이상 존재하지 않는 중성명사의 사용 및 음성․음운적인 면에서 순음화현상이 나 [i]모음화현상외에도 기타 몇몇 독특한 음소들(ă/ǝ/, â=î/ɨ/, ş/ʃ/, ţ/ʦ/)과 수많은 외래어휘의 존재 등을 들 수 있다. 이들은 대개 발칸 및 카르파트지역의 토착어적인 요소들이나 훗날 발칸지역 일대로 대거 이 주해와 정착한 민족들, 특히 슬라브 민족의 언어적인 영향에서 비롯한 것들로 간주되고 있다. 이와 같이 루마니아어는 라틴어에서 유래된 언 어임에도 불구하고 여타 자매 언어들과는 달리 발칸지역의 독특한 역 사 및 사회･문화적인 전통과 더불어 여러 민족들의 언어적인 영향으로 인해 다양한 면들을 지니고 있으며 이러한 모습이 발칸 로망스어인 루 마니아어의 진면목이라고 사료된다.

영문 초록

This article aims at a study on the diversity of Romanian. From the viewpoint of linguistic genealogy, in a broader sense Romanian belongs to the Indo-European langueges family, especially to the Romance languages group which are derived from Vulgar Latin, whose structures are somewhat different from those of Classic Latin. However, according to the geographical viewpoint, Romanian is classified into Balkan Romance. Each of the Romance languages has own characteristics due to the several reasons: first of all, to the language of the local native population, in our case Thraco-Dacian and secondly to the language of influential peoples immigrated later in this area, above all Slavonic etc. Among the features of Romanian, there are the neutral gender and the enclitic definite article. For example for the meaning 󰡐the field or the plain󰡑in English one says in Romanian the neutercâmpul but in the other Romance languages the masculineel campo,il campo,le champ etc. which are derived fromLatin the masculineille campus. Besides, one has to point out the fact that the Romanian alphabet system has some distinguishing characters from the other Romance languages, namely two vowel phonemes(ă/ǝ/, â=î/ɨ/) and two consonants(ş/ʃ/, ţ/ʦ/) etc. In addition, the Latin consonants cluster -ct/kt/- in the intervocalic position of has been changed diversely in the modern Romance languages. For examples, the Spanish words noche, leche etc. or Italian notte, latte or Romanian noapte, lapte have the same Latin origin, namely nocte, lacte respectively. In the case of Romanian it is declared that the Latin velar plosive /k/ became bilabial /p/. As a matter of fact, in Romanian is popular the so called labialisation which is regarded as influence of the substratum. Respecting lexical aspect one can say that Romanian has so many heterogeneous elements influenced by the languages of Balkan areas with which it came into contact. For instance, from Slavonicda for yes orsută for hundred; from Hungarian hotar for border or hârdău for bucket; from Turkish hamal for porter or huzur for leisure etc. In conclusion we may say that Romanian preserves the greate parte of Latin structures in phonological andmorpho-syntactic aspects withsomefeatures due to the native laguage, namely the substratum and the influential language after Roman Empire, the so called superstratum. These are the true characters of the Romanian language which is considered as Balkan Romance.
