To be able to understand how much the international position has changed since 1989, it is enough to realize that there is not ever one country, which use to be its neighbour at that time is and how Poland has completely new neighbours on every bounder Soviet Union Republic and all disappeared and now The Republic of Poland had Czech Slovenians, Belo-Russia, Lithuania and Russia on its bounders. The two most important events, which had to the new situation around Poland apart form anticomunistic revolution break through caused by Poland itself, are the fall of Soviet Union and reunion of Germany. And two main factors which has completely changed its geopolitical position are joining NATO and European Union. The Polish Republic before the partitions of Poland for a few hundreds years, The Second Republic only for twenty years and The Peoples Republic Socialistist nearly half a century. How long and what shape is The Third Rupublic going to last? The first two form of Polish political system were bith destroyed by external enermy, the last one was submitted to on outside empire with that compation, The Third Polish Rupublic seems to be the most pomising. There is no direct dangerous enermy, it is complitely indepedent from the neighbouring empires and since 1999 it has a guarantee of external safety given to it by NATO, of which it has become a member. Some say that Poland's geopolitical situation at the end of the second Millenium is very much like the one at the end of the first Millenium, when a 1000 year, the emperior Otton Ⅲ gave on oficial visit to the prince and leader the king of Poland - Boles aw Chrobry, confirming some decisions taken aboved the Poland's full membership of Christian comunity of Europe, for which the king forther applied a few decadeds earlier. Some less historically, enthusiatic and les Millenium spirit orientated say that Poland positions relations around its borders has not been this good since the ⅩⅥth century altogether there is a big indication that future of the Third Polish Republic depends mainly on the Polish people themselves, also, or maybe above all concerning its aspiration to become a full member of European Union. The realities seem to be promising. After a relatively short period of the chaos due to the change and recession, Poland entered a faze of quite past and balanced development. Polish people proved to be dynamic, and surprised not only the external spectators but also the nation itself and they are succesfully standing out of some after postcommunistic neighbouring countries. Thanks to that collective effort of its citizens, Poland is becoming more and more civililized country. If no internal problems interfere with that process in a decade or a few decade at the latest Poland and the Polish people will become not only full members, but also active co-creators of this civilization, to which they belong.
