대일 부품 및 소재산업의 수출입 현황과 경쟁전략에 관한 실증연구

국문 초록

2008년,대세계(對世界)무역수지는 -132.7억 달러였으나 부품·소재산업은 347.5억 달러의 막대한 흑자를 창출했다.그렇지만 대일(對日)부품·소재산업의 무역수지는 -209.4억 달러를 기록해 일본에 대한 우리 산업계의 취약성을 여실히 보여주었다. 근래 들어,부품·소재산업의 무역수지에는 많은 변화가 일고 있다.특히,대일 수입에 차지하는 부품산업 비율은 2000년 40.6%에서 2008년에는 28.6%로 축소된 반면,소재산업이 차지하는 비중은 같은 기간 21.6%에서 28.3%로 상승하였다.더욱이 대일 전체 무역적자 가운데 두 산업이 차지하는 비중은 2008년을 기준으로 할 때,부품산업이 28.8%,소재산업이 35.2%로 대일 적자의 주역이 부품산업에서 소재산업으로 변화하고 있다. 특히 소재산업에서도 열간압연 및 압출제품과 같은 철강산업의 상공정(上工程)무역 적자규모는 꾸준히 확대되고 있으며,이는 국내 철강산업에서 연출되고 있는 상하공정의 불균형(imbalance)현상이 주원인인 것으로 파악되며 주목을 받고 있다.즉,철강산업에 대한 국내의 산업정책이 실패하였음을 의미한다. 따라서 향후 대일 부품·소재산업의 경쟁력을 확보하기 위해서는 소재산업 특히 소재산업의 경쟁력에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 상공정(철강압연강재)의 경쟁력 확보가 매우 중요함을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

Trade balance in April 2009 recorded a surplus of 5.79 billion dollars, which is the historical peak in terms of monthly calcuation. Trade surplus has continued for three consecutive months with 2.88 billion dollars in February and 4.29 billion dollars in March. The dominant evaluation is that this is a typical's slump-type trade surplus' caused by higher reduction of import than export. In export, maritime cargo showed a rapid increase compared to last year, and importation of crude oil, gas and energy experienced a large decrease ith lowered prices. However, major export products of Korea except for ships such as automobiles, IT and steel products continue to show large decrease in export. Especially, domestic steel manufacturers cut their production and are experiencing poor profitability due to price discounts. Such movements are showing the cross section of import and export-dependant Korean economy, which is immediately influenced by joy and sorrow of global environment. Despite high exchange rate of the yen, trade balance with Japan in January, February, arch and April of 2009 was respectively -1.47, -2.19, -2.31 and -1.82 billion dollars. Increased value of the yen actually contributed to a deficit with Japan.' Adverse trade balance' with Japan is quickly rising as a diplomatic and political problem to be solved between Korea and Japan. In this study, current status of international competitiveness of domestic' component and materials' will be explored and evaluated more clearly. Component and material industries are the very motive power for our nation's growth as an advanced economy. Focusing on major import and export country to Korea including Japan, import and export status of component and material industires with this country will be examined.
