기업규모별 도요타 생산시스템의 기업문화에 따른 생산관리 목표 및 경영성과의 차이분석

국문 초록

심상범,유인선 (2009)에서는 도요타 생산시스템의 기업문화가 도요타 생산시스템(ToyotaProductionSystem:TPS)적용에 대한생산관리 목표 및 경영성과에 상당한 연관관계가 있다는 것을 실증적으로 입증하였다.TPS를 도입하고 있는 제조업들은 구축된 기업문화 환경에서 TPS실행요인을 도입하여 생산관리 목표를 향상시키고 경영성과를 높이는 것으로 조사되었으며,특히 TPS기업문화에서 대하여는 중소기업과 대기업이 현저한 차이를 보여주었다. 이어지는 본 연구에서는 기업규모(대기업,중소기업)별 TPS적용시 기업문화 도입여부가 생산관리 목표 및 경영성과에 연관관계를 살펴보고,기업규모의 차이를 실증적으로 입증하고자 하였다.이를 통해 TPS도입 및 추진의 성공요인과 전략를 도출하고자 한다.연구결과 기업규모별 차이를 살펴보면 중소기업의 결과에서 TPS실행요인들이 기업문화와 유의한 상관관계가 있으며,TPS실행요인도 생산관리 목표와 경영성과에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나,도요타 생산시스템의 기업문화는 생산관리 목표에 영향이 저조한 것으로 나타났다.또한 대기업의 결과를 보면 도요타 생산시스템의 기업문화가 생산관리 목표에 많은 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

Previous research(Shim and Yoo 2009) found corporate culture in a Toyota Production System(here after referred to as TPS) to have a significant relationship with production goals and management performance.I t has was also known that manufacturing firms introducing TPS highly increased their production goals and performance. Their research also found that there were meaningful differences between SMEs(small and medium enterprises)and large firm sespecially by corporate culture. Extending this previous work, the present study attempted to investigate(1) how TPS implementation elements and organizational culture affect production goals (quality, cost, due date,a nd flexibility) and management performance including financial and non-financial, (2) whether any difference between SMEs and large firms exists among the sevariables, and(3)to finally help managers establish appropriate strategies for successfully implementing a TPS. The results of the study revealed that a significant difference existed between large and small & medium sized firms. Specifically, in the case of small & medium firms, TPS implementation elements significantly affected production goals, which in turn influenced management performance, and were highly correlated with corporate culture. However, nosignificant relationship between corporate culture and production goals was found. Findings also indicated that TPS implementation elements for large firms significantly affected both corporate culture and production goals, which in turn significantly affected management performance. These findings imply that firms with TPS implementation improved their production goals as well as performance.
