全南地域 四柱式住居址의 構造的인 變遷 및 展開過程

국문 초록

이 글에서는 마한계 집단의 한 주거형태로 알려진 사주식주거지의 구조적인 변천과 전개과정을 살펴보았다. 전남지역 사주식주거지는 출토유물의 편년을 통해 세분기로 설정하였다. Ⅰ기(3세기 전반~4세기 초반)는 형성기로, 주로 서부지역에서 확인된다. 입지는 구릉 사면에 주로 위치하고, 면적은 평균 20m²이다. 노지는 부뚜막이 성행하고, 주공간 거리는 226~268cm이다. Ⅱ기(4세기 전반~4세기 후반)는 분포범위가 넓어지고, 특히 동부지역에 까지 확산된다. 평면형태는 장방형의 대형주거지가 등장하고, 노지는 부뚜막과 터널식이 공존한다. 주공간 거리는 전 단계보다 커지고, 직경은 작아진다. Ⅲ기(5세기대)는 사주식이 가장 성행하는 시기이다. 입지는 평지로 이동하면서 초대형의 사주식이 등장한다. 노지는 부뚜막과 터널형이 연도를 배가한 형태로 발달한다. 주공간 거리는 커지면서 다양화되는 특징을 보인다. 목심은 16~24Cm로 전 단계보다 더 작아진다. 사주식주거지의 발생은 2~3세기에 기후변화, 건축기술의 발전을 통해 충청도 천안 일대를 중심으로 성립된다. 이후 사주식의 전개과정은 4세기에 판석제 부뚜막이나 온돌시설의 백제계 주거지의 영향으로 차령산맥 이남으로 남하·확산된다. 전남·북 지역은 3세기에 서부의 평야지대를 중심으로 등장하고, 4세기에는 동부지역으로 확대되는 양상을 보인다. 그러나 전북지역은 5세기 초반에 백제계주거지의 영향으로 일시적인 과도기를 겪으면서 사라지게 되고, 전남지역은 사주식이 5세기에 대형고분군의 피장자의 주거로 사용되면서 최고조에 이르고, 6세기에 옹관고분사회 해체와 주거지의 지상화로 사라지게 된다. 이상과 같이 사주식주거지의 소멸과정을 백제계 주거지의 등장 즉, 백제의 영역확장과 관련성이 있을 것으로 추정된다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the structural change and developmental process of four-pillar type dwelling site was known as a residence of Mahan's people. Four-pillar type found in Jeonnam province are divided into three periods based on the chronology of excavated artifacts. First period is the formative period which is estimated between the first half of the 3rd century and the early 4th century, and the sites of this period are found mainly at the west region. The sites are located mainly at hilly slope and the average of its floor area is about 20m². Kitchen range prevailed as the fireplace and the distance between post-holes is 266·268cm. During the second period which is dated from the first half of the 4th century to the late 4th century, the distribution of sites are extended to the east region. Large rectangular dwelling sites appeared and kitchen range and tunnel type coexisted as the fireplace. Distance between post-holes is larger than the former period and diameter of pillars is smaller than before. In the third period which is estimated as the 5th century, the four-pillar type was most prevailing. As its location was moved to flatland, super sized four-pillar type dwelling sites appeared. The fireplace was developed to the kitchen range and tunnel type attached flue. Distance between post-holes was larger and more diversified. The diameter of post-holes is smaller than the former period ranging 16~24cm long. Four-pillar type dwelling site was built centering around Cheonan in Choongcheong province due to change of weather and development of architectural techniques during the 2nd?3rd century. The four-pillar type extended to south of the Charyeong mountains under the influence of Baekjae dwelling site including the kitchen range made with flagstone or ondol in the 4th century. Four-pillar type dwelling site appeared in Jeonnam and Jeonbuk province centering around plain area of the west in the 3rd century. It extended to the east region in th 4th period. In Jeonbuk province, temporal transitional period existed by the influence of Baekjae dwelling site in the early 5th century and then it disappeared. On the other hand, in Jeonnam region, four-pillar type was used as a residence for people who built large ancient tomb and reached the prosperity in the 5th century. Four-pillar type disappeared due to dismantlement of jar-tomb society and building houses on the ground in the 6th century. Therefore, it can be assumed that disappearance of four-pillar type dwelling sites is due to the overtake of the Baekjae's dwelling sites, meaning the extension of Baekjae's power.
