국문 초록

국내에서 ‘예술영재교육기관’을 표방하는 곳들이 날로 늘어나고 있음에도 불구하고 예술영재교육의 개념에 부합하는 프로그램을 운영하는 곳은 극히 소수이다. 또한 각 기관에서 커리큘럼 개발자의 역할을 해야 하는 담당 교사들의 역량도 아직은 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 예시적인 프로그램을 개발하여 보임으로써 예술영재교육의 질 제고를 위한 교육프로그램 개발의 방향을 안내하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 예술 영재교육과 관련한 국내외의 이론연구와 전형적인 프로그램 개발의 사례를 분석하였으며, 우리나라의 특수한 상황은 무엇인지 진단하였다. 예술영재교육이라 할지라도 그 하위 영역들이 매우 방대함으로 본 연구에서는 ‘시각예술’ 분야를 선택하였으며 대상 연령은 만 6-8세(초등학교 1-3학년 정도)로 하되, 특히 기존의 일반 ‘미술’ 교육프로그램에서 간과되어 있는 ‘기초예술성’의 계발에 초점을 두었다. 예술교육의 또 다른 축이 되는 표현 기능의 문제는 매우 중요하기는 하나, 본고에서는 기초예술성 계발 과정의 자연스러운 산물이라는 차원에서 제한적으로만 다루어졌음을 밝혀둔다.

영문 초록

The need for educational program development for artistically gifted students has been increasing in accordance with the growth of gifted education in arts in Korea. However, many art teachers still have difficulty in developing programs for artistically gifted students. They are usually either unaware of gifted education or simply lacking of experience in that filed due to the short history of gifted education in arts in Korea. Therefore this study aims to lead the direction of program development for artistically gifted students through designing an exemplary program with detailed guidance for further development. Theoretical discourses and some cases of practicum on developing programs for artistically gifted students were also thoroughly reviewed. This study chose the field of visual arts in particular since there are so many genres in arts and each of them should be approached in different ways. Foundation program for ages 6-8 was especially focused on. It has been neglected in gifted education in arts in Korea even though its importance for building up children’s artistry has been advocated by many artists. The issues on artistic skills were dealt in a limited way as a natural product in the process of developing children’s artistry.
