영문 초록

It is argued that the partial reduplication of English is triggered by the perceptual difference of some prominent acoustic cues like noise and transition in temporal features, and F1 and F2 in spectral features, even though the changing form is different depending on whether it is rhyme or ablaut reduplication. While the general shape of partial reduplication is made through maximizing the perceptual distance, each alternative form uses some amounts of acoustic information resided in some selected cues. The result implies that the study of partial reduplication should consider the interface between phonology and phonetics, so called non-morphological approach, because the sound alternation in production is not related with the morphological domain.
