대학수학능력시험에서 표준점수, 백분위, 등급에 의한 총점의 순위변화

국문 초록

  이 연구는 2008학년도 대학수학능력시험(이하 수능)의 점수체제가 표준점수제에서 수능 등급제로 변화됨에 따라 표준점수(혹은 변형표준점수), 백분위, 등급을 이용한 수능총점의 순위가 얼마나 변화하는지에 대해 탐구하였다. 2007학년도 정시모집에서 C 대학에 합격한 학생들의 자료를 이용하였다. C, S, K 대학의 정시모집요강에 따라 2007학년도 수능총점 산출방식과 2008학년도 수능총점 산출방식을 적용하여 수능총점을 산출한 후 순위가 얼마나 변화하는지를 비교하였다. 연구결과 수능총점 산출 방식에 따라 모집단위내에서 순위가 지나치게 오르거나 내려가는 학생들이 있었으며, 표준점수에 의한 수능총점 차이가 큰 지원자들의 등급에 의한 수능총점은 같게 되는 경우가 다수 발생하였다. 그렇지만 총점산출방식에 따른 순위가 크게 바뀌지 않는 모집단위도 있었다.

영문 초록

  The purpose of this study was to investigate the extent to which ranks in total scores were changed by standard score, percentile rank, and Stanine score used in Collage Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) in Korea. The reported score of CSAT was the standard score in 2007 and the Stanine score in 2008. Since there were a lot of controversy on changing the score report method of CSAT, it was needed to investigate the effect of changing the reported score methods on rankings of applicants for colleges.
  A total of 2,665 students already admitted to a national university C in 2007 were used. The admission policies of three universities C, K, S were selected. The total scores of CSAT were recalculated based on each university"s 2007 and 2008 admission policies. The results show that there were significant rank changes in the total scores of CSAT by the reported score methods in some departments. However, in a few department, rank changes by the reported score methods were small.
