유아 재능 판별을 위한 한국형 다중지능(MI) 검사 개발 연구

국문 초록

  본 연구에서는 유아들의 재능 판별을 위해 다중지능(MI)을 측정할 수 있는 표준화된 한국형 MI측정도구의 개발에 관한 연구를 수행하였다.
  본 유아용 다중지능 검사는 논리수학/언어/음악/신체-운동/공간/자연탐구/대인간/개인내의 8가지 하위 지능영역으로 구성된 검사로서 개별검사이며, 만 3세～만 5세 유아를 대상으로 연령별로 3단계 검사로 구분된 교구 형태의 검사이다. 전국을 대도시, 중도시, 소도시 및 읍면 단위로 구분하여 총 412명의 유아를 대상으로 검사를 실시하여 표준화 작업을 하였다. 한편 본 유아용 다중지능 검사 도구에 대한 신뢰도와 타당성을 보다 높이기 위하여 Cronbach α계수(.79 ~.87)를 산출하여 신뢰도를 확인하였으며 검사, 측정 평가 전문가 5인에 의한 내용분석을 통하여 다중지능 검사도구의 내용타당도를 확인하였다. 또한 유아용 Wecsler 지능검사와의 상관관계를 산출하여 공인타당도를 확인하였다.
  본 연구에서는 유아의 다양한 재능을 확인하기 위한 측정도구로서 3~5세 유아의 지능을 측정할 수 있는 한국형 개별 다중지능 검사를 개발하였다는 학문적 의미와 동시에 본 연구에서는 중요한 유아기 지능발달의 분화적 특징을 발견할 수 있었다. 즉 Gardner의 제안과 달리 우리나라 유아들은 언어(자연), 논리수학(공간), 개인간-내, 음악, 신체-운동 지능이라는 5개 지능영역으로 분화됨을 확인하였다. 또한 교육 현장에의 활용측면에서 의의를 고려하며 사회적 기여점을 찾을 수 있으리라 기대한다.

영문 초록

  Identification of abilities of preschoolers and then foster their individual abilities is very important tasks in education. Though it is so important, it is also difficult because identification of a ability is really not easy. The main reason of that is not developed a measuring instrument for identification the talent and characteristics of preschoolers which has validity and reliability.
  According to the previous studies(Gardner, 1983, 1990, 1993; Shearer, 1994) of multiple intelligence, human intelligence is divided 7 or 9 domains, linguistic, logical-mathematical, spacial, musical, body-kinesthetic, natural, interpersonal, intrapersonal. And intellectual traits might be related with cultural and social condition.
  However, to make sure this is the case, one needs to be confident about the test implementations and measures before taking a looking at developmental aspects. Most of the existing tests implementation occurred abroad and rarely reflected Korean cultural values.
  In this study, I constructed "Korean Individual Multiple Intelligence Test for preschooler." This test was culturally sensitive and standardized for Korean children.
  "Korean Individual Multiple Intelligence Test for preschooler" was developed on the basis of the theory of Gardner and was designed to measure the multiple intelligence of children who was 3 years old to 5 years old. It consists of 8 intelligence domains involves linguistic, logical-mathematical, spacial, musical, body-kinesthetic, natural, interpersonal, intrapersonal intelligence and this test is consisted of eight sets for 3-5 years old preschooler.
  The target groups of this study were preschooler in order to investigate the multiple intelligence. 412 subjects have randomly sampled from big cities, medium-sized cities, and small cities.
  The results of this study will offer three significant meanings for educators and researchers as follows.
  Firstly, the developmental differentiate trends of intelligence for preschooler were identified using the test instrument that was development through this study. Secondly, it will help to develop the curriculum and teaching program for fostering the multiple intelligence for children in Korea according to individual abilities. Thirdly, as yet most of the existing most of the tests were implemented abroad and rarely reflected Korean cultural values. However, the test, Korean Individual Multiple Intelligence Test for preschooler would contribute to measure the multiple intelligence of Korean children.
