장애아동과 일반아동의 자기결정력 증진을 위한 초등 체육과 게임 활동 수업 모형 개발 및 적용효과

국문 초록

  자기결정력은 자신에 대한 이해와 존중을 바탕으로 성취할 목표를 설정하고 성취하는 능력, 태도, 기술로 삶의 질 향상에 영향 미치는 주요 변인이다. 본 연구는 장애아동을 포함한 모든 아동의 자기결정력 증진을 위한 초등학교 체육과 게임 활동 수업모형을 개발하였다. 모형을 통해 게임 활동 수업을 재구성하는 단계는 4단계로 1단계는 게임 활동에서 습득해야 할 주요 기술을 추출한다. 2단계는 주요 기술을 습득 할 수 있는 활동을 개발한다. 3단계는 아동들과 단계별 활동의 내용을 공유하고 선택의 기회를 제공한다. 4단계는 아동들이 선택한 활동을 수행하고 평가하게 한다. 개발한 모형이 초등학교 체육 수업에 적용 가능한지, 그리고 실제로 아동들의 자기결정력을 증가시킬 수 있는지 2가지 방법으로 타당도를 검증하였다. 초등학교 3학년 게임 활동 수업 3개 단원, 11차시를 모형에 따라 재구성한 후 체육교과 전공교수 5인에게 모형과 재구성한 게임 활동의 타당도를 설문조사한 결과 5점 만점 중 평균 4.45였다. 그리고 인천지역 2개의 초등학교 체육시간에 재구성한 게임 활동 수업 11차시를 3명의 장애아동과 일반아동 71명을 대상으로 적용하고 자기결정력 척도로 평가한 결과 유의하게 향상되었다. 아동들의 일지를 내용 분석한 결과 아동들은 자신이 좋아하고 할 수 있는 단계를 선택하여 게임 활동을 하였을 때의 재미와 즐거움을 표현하였으며 궁극적으로 게임 활동 수행 능력이 향상되었다. 본 연구 결과는 통합학급에서 모든 아동의 자기결정력 증진을 위한 게임 활동 수업 모형이 적용 가능하다는 것을 말해주며, 초등학생을 대상으로 일반 교과수업에 삽입하여 자기결정 기술을 교수할 수 있는 모형을 개발하였다는 것에 의의를 가진다.

영문 초록

  Self-determination is defined as the ability to establish and achieve goals on the basis of self-understanding and self-esteem, which is a crucial factor to one"s life quality enhancement. In this study, the researcher developed an instruction model using games for elementary physical education class for children"s self-determination ability enhancement and examined the validity of the lesson plan. The instructional model includes 4 stages: (1) the stage of extracting main skills to be acquired to play games, (2) the stage of developing activities for children to acquire the main skills, (3) the stage of sharing the contents of activities with children and offering the opportunity to choose, and (4) the stage of evaluating children"s performance. Through the four stages, children can develop the ability of self-recognition, goal setting, choice, and active participation. The validity of the study was examined in terms of: (1) the application of the lesson plan and (2) the enhancement of children"s self-determination ability. The reconstructed lesson plan included a total of 11 class hours in 3 units. The researcher surveyed 5 professors in PE to examined the validity of the lesson, and the survey found the lesson plan significantly valid marking 4.45 out of 5. Three children with disabilities and 71 general children in two schools were instructed with the lesson plan, and they showed meaningful improvement of their self-determination ability. Based on journal entries from the children and teachers, the children enjoyed the activities when they performed the stage that they liked and could do, and hence their ability to perform activities was improved. The results of the study demonstrated that the instruction model using games for children"s self-determination ability enhancement was applicable to the inclusive classroom. Also, the instruction model developed for this study was proved to be very useful, which can be instructed to elementary students in general subject classes to enhance their self-determination skills.
