국문 초록

본 연구는 정신지체아동의 사회적 능력 특성에 대한 개념을 정립하고 그 구성요인과 관련된 모형을 개발 제시함으로써, 사회적 능력 향상을 위한 사정과 지도에 효율적인 방안을 마련할 수 있도록 하는데 목적이 있다. 사회변화에 따른 사회적 능력의 변화를 검토하고, 사회적 능력의 개념화 및 정신지체 아동의 사회적 기술 결함 유형을 탐색하며, 사정과 중재에 활용 할 수 있는 사회적 능력의 특성 이해를 위한 구성요인을 모형으로 제시한다. 검토와 탐색을 통한 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회의 변화에 따라 인간에게 요구되는 사회적 능력은 다양하게 변화해 왔는데, 오늘날 정보화 사회에 필요한 정산지체 아동의 사회적 능력 요인은 타인과의 협력, 민감성, 문제해결 등이 주요내용이 된다. 둘째, 사회적 능력은 적응행동과 사회적 기술의 두 가지 영역의 하위요인으로 구성되며, 아동의 사회적 기술 결함 유형에 따라 다양한 중재 절차가 마련되어야 할 것이다. 셋째, 정산지체 아동의 사회적 능력 사정과 중재에 있어서 구성 영역들 간에 밀접한 상관성이 있음을 고려해야 한다.

영문 초록

This research sought to determine the characteristic concept of social competence of mentally retarded children, develop and present the model involving relevant components, and help prepare efficient measures to conduct assessment and guidance on improving their social competence. The research also reviewed changes in social competence in line with social changes and explored the conception of social competence and types of social skills deficit in mentally retarded children. It likewise presented the model containing components designed to understand the characteristics of social competence in conducting assessment and intervention. The research came out with the following conclusion based on review and exploration. First, social competence required of humans developed variably in line with social changes, and key social competence factors for mentally retarded children required in today's information society include cooperation with others, sensitiveness and ability to solve problems. Second, social competence consists of two sub areas such as adaptive behavior and social skill. Various interventive procedures should be prepared according to children's social skill deficit types. Third, efforts should consider close correlation among relevant components in conducting assessment of and intervention in the social competence of mentally retarded children.
