국문 초록

이 논문은 조절이론가들의 금융주도 축적체제 이론이 자본시장의 발전과 기관투자가의 형성, 그리고 이들의 실물경제에 대한 지배의 효과를 논리적으로 설명하는데 일정한 한계를 보인다는 점을 지적하고 이에 대한 새로운 설명을 시도한다. 즉, 자본시장의 발달과 기관투자가의 성장은 금융자본(financial capital)에 내재하는 본성과 그것을 가능하게 한 사회제도적 변화의 결과라는 주장을 제시한다. 물론, 금융자본의 관성은 금융자본의 유동성 추구와 실물축적에 대한 상대적 자율성의 추구이다. 그리고 이러한 본성의 추구를 가능하게 하고 또 강화시켜 준 사회제도적 변화는 1980년대 이래 전개되어 온 금융자유화이다. 또, 금융자유화에 의한 금융자본 본성 추구의 강화는 금융시장의 불안정성과 실물투자 및 경제성장의 지체와 불안정을 수반한다. 왜냐하면 금융자본의 유동성과 자율성 추구는 금융축적의 취약성을 증가시키는 한편, 실물부문에서의 장기적 생산투자를 억제하기 때문이다. 금융주도 축적체제의 주요한 특성으로 나타나는 금융 및 실물부문의 불안정과 저성장의 이유도 바로 이러한 금융자본의 본성으로부터 나타난다고 주장한다.

영문 초록

This paper argued that the shift of financial activities center from bank to capital market and the growth of institutional investors was the result of the pursuit of the nature of financial capital, that is, the liquidity and autonomy of the accumulation of financial capital The nature of financial capital derived from the properties of financial capital movement. And the nature of financial capital has enlarged by financial liberalization It has enabled the financial capital to expand its nature, that is, to get the liquidity and autonomy. The strengthening of the nature of financial capital and resulting the development of capital market and the growth of institutional investors also has accompanied the unstable financial market and the decrease of the growth of real investment and economic growth Institutional investors forced corporate management to obey their Interests, the maximization of stock value of the firm, thus to adopt the short-termism in the decision of investment and management of corporation Therefore the growth of real investment and GDP growth has become co shrink, though the profit share of corporation has been recovered since the middle of 1980s
