영문 초록

Yongi is a very important area in understanding the Baekje revival movement. Many Buddhist statues, constructed from 673 to 689, and inscriptions reveal various activities regarding the Baekje revival movement. The movement was most active in the Ungjin area to which Yongi was belonged. Fortresses in the Yongi area were important bases for the military revival movement to advance to the Ungjin Dodokbu. Also, located in the geographically vintage point, the Yongi area played an important role in stopping the transportation of Silla supplies to Ungjin and Sabi. Local powers and the aristocratic from the Baekje administration allied against Silla and Ungjin Dodokbu till A.D. 671 to 672. Different perspectives were raised over the meaning that Buddhist statues constructed in Yongi after the termination of the revival movement in 673. Some see the construction of Buddhist statue as means of Baekje revival movement conducted in terms of religious aspects. But, we should pay attention to the fact that Amita belief prevailed in the region during the time. The Amita belief represents compromise with Silla, which is also seen from the policy of Silla after Baekje's surrender.
