현대의 교육목적에 대한 비판적 고찰

국문 초록

현대 사회는 교육의 가장 본질적인 부분이라 할 수 있는 교육의 목적에 대한 담론이 어느 때보다 강하게 요청되는 시대라고 볼 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 교육목적의 중요성에 비해 대부분의 가정과 학교에서 교육목적이 간과되고 있는 것이 현실이다. 이 논문은 현대의 교육목적에 대해 비판하고, 시대에 적합한 교육목적이 필요함을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 먼저 표준화교육에 대해 비판한다. 공교육의 탄생기에는 시대적 여건상 표준화교육이 불가피한 측면이 있었으나 더 이상 통용되지 않으며, 오늘날은 표준화교육이 아닌 개별화교육이 필요하다. 이와 같이 왜곡된 교육목적을 수정하기 위해서는 교육목적에 대한 학문적 논의가 필요하다. 연구자가 보기에 현시대에 적합한 교육목적은 ‘행복’이 되어야 한다. 이를 위해서는 다음의 3가지 변화가 수반되어야 한다. 첫째, 가정에서 교육목적에 대한 인식의 전환이 필요하다. 둘째, 부모와 자녀간의 긍정적인 애착이 지속적으로 형성되어야 한다. 셋째, 교사의 교직행복을 향상시켜야 한다.

영문 초록

Modern society can be seen as an era in which discourse on the aim of education, which can be said to be the most essential part of education, is more strongly demanded than ever. However, compared to the importance of this aim of education, it is true that it is overlooked in most schools. This paper purpose to criticize the aim of education in modern times and to reveal the need for an educational aim that is appropriate for the times. To this end, it criticizes standardized education. During the birth of public education, standardized education was inevitable due to the circumstances of the times, but it should not continue to this day. Today's rapidly changing times demand individualized education, not standardized education. In order to correct such distorted educational aims, an academic discussion on the aim of education is necessary. Happiness should be the actual aim of education, and for this to happen, the following three changes should be accompanied. First, a change in the perception of the aim of education is necessary at home. Second, a positive attachment between parents and children should be continuously formed. Third, teachers' job satisfaction should be improved.
