텍스트 마이닝을 활용한 ‘좋은 교사’에 대한 초등학생의 인식 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 텍스트 마이닝을 활용하여 ‘좋은 교사'에 대한 초등학생의 주관적인 인식을 파악하는 것이다. 이를 위해 초등학교 1∼6학년 초등학생에게 어떤 교사를 ‘좋은 교사’라고 인식하고 있는지 묻는 개방형 문항을 제시하였고, 이에 응답한 392명의 학생의 서술 내용을 R 텍스트마이닝을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 키워드 및 의미연결망 분석 결과, 초등학생은 재미있게 수업하고 공부를 잘 가르치는 교사, 친절하고 화를 내지 않는 착한 교사, 공감하고 들어주고 마음과 기분을 알아주는 교사를 ‘좋은 교사’로 인식하였다. 둘째, 토픽 모델링 결과, ‘수업 기획 역량’, ‘학습 동기 촉진 역량’, ‘학생 이해 능력’, ‘학습 지도 및 촉진 역량’, ‘학생 감정 공감 역량’, ‘학교생활 지도역량’, ‘수업 실행 역량’, ‘문제 행동 이해 및 처지 역량’을 갖춘 교사를 ‘좋은 교사’로 인식하였다. 이러한 연구 결과는 좋은 교사에 관한 학생의 인식을 성찰하고 학생의 발달과 성장을 위한 자료로 활 용되며, 학생이 능동적으로 참여하고 학습의 즐거움을 경험할 수 있도록 학교 교육에 적용될 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore elementary school students’ subjective perceptions of ‘good teachers’ using text mining. To achieve this, we posed an open-ended question to students in grades 1-6 about their perceptions of 'good teachers' and applied text mining techniques using R to analyze the responses of 392 students. Our findings revealed that, first, keyword and semantic network analysis indicated that elementary school students perceived a teacher who makes class fun and teaches study well, a good teacher who is kind and does not get angry, and a teacher who empathizes, listens, and understands their hearts and moods as a ‘good teacher’. Second, topic modeling showed that students perceived a teacher who has the following skills as a ‘good teacher’: lesson planning, promoting learning motivation, understanding students, learning guidance and facilitation skills, empathizing with students’ feelings, school life guidance skills, lesson implementation skills, and understanding and dealing with problem behaviors. These results are expected to be applied in school education to reflect students’ perceptions of good teachers, serve as a resource for student development and growth, and enable students to actively participate and experience the joy of learning.
