창조적 자기작업을 통한 미술치료사의 치유 경험에 대한 탐구

국문 초록

본 연구는 미술치료사의 자기작업을 통해 미술이 주는 치유적 경험과 가치를 탐구하는데 목적이 있다. 미술치료에서 미술이 갖는 치유적 가치와 의미를 탐구하기 위해 연구자의 그림에 관한 이야기로 자전적 내러티브 탐구를 시도하였다. 본 연구의 자료는 2004년부터 2023년 9월까지 연구자의 자기작업과 저널을 통하여 수집되었다. 이 과정에서 발굴된 경험의 이야기는 ‘그림은 이야기한다. 너무 아프다고’, ‘그림은 기억들을 되살리다’, ‘그림은 무의식을 이야기하다’, ‘그림은 이야기한다. 힘을 내라고’, ‘그림은 이야기한다. 사랑을’의 5가지로 생성되었다. 이러한 경험은 미술치료사의 자기작업은 치료자의 고통과 아픔을 담아주는 것, 미술은 유희이고, 미술치료사의 자기작업 자체가 결국 내담자를 공감하게 하는 능력을 갖게 한다는 것을 깨달았다. 연구자는 탐구를 통해, 창조적 자기작업은 드러나지 않은 내면의 이미지를 만나게 해 주고 이미지를 통한 내면의 표현 과정이 치유적 경험임을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점에 대하여 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the healing experience and value of art through the self-work of an art therapist. To explore the healing value and meaning of art in art therapy, an autobiographical narrative inquiry was attempted with the story of a researcher's painting. The study data were collected through the researcher's self-work and self-journal from 2004 to September 2023. There were five themes of experience discovered in this process as follows; ‘Painting talks. Pain is too strong,' ‘Painting is reviving memories,' ‘Painting talks about the unconscious,' ‘Painting speaks about having a courage,' and ‘Painting says about love.‘ This experience realized that the art therapist's self-work contained the therapist's pain and suffering, creating art was a play and the art therapist's self-work itself eventually allowed the therapist to empathize with the client. Through this study, the researcher found that the creative self-work allowed to meet the unexposed inner image and the process of inner expression through the image was a healing experience. Based on these research results, the significance and limitations of this study were discussed.
